Lincoln Municipal Code Art. I Vehicles

As used in this chapter, and notwithstanding the provisions of Section 20.04.010, the terms defined by Sections 20.08.020 through 20.08.050 shall be ascribed the meanings indicated therein, unless the context indicated otherwise.

The term "director" shall mean the public works director, and any subordinate city officer or employee to whom he or she delegates duty or authority imposed or conferred by this chapter.

The term "LMA" shall mean the Lincoln Municipal Airport, consisting of the entire premises thereof.

Any notice or other writing authorized or required by this chapter shall be deemed served and effective for all purposes on the date when it is reduced to writing and is either personally delivered to the party to whom it is directed or is deposited in the United States Mail, postage prepaid, and addressed to the party to whom it is directed.

Except as otherwise provided, the director is charged with the responsibility of administering the provisions of this chapter, and shall be authorized from time to time to promulgate and enforce such rules or regulations consistent with the purposes, intent and express terms of this chapter as he or she deems necessary to implement such purposes, intent and express terms. Such rules and regulations may include, but are not limited to, the following:

(1) The establishment of speed limits upon the roads and streets of the airport's premises;

(2) The establishment of passenger vehicle parking areas, no parking areas and timed limit parking area zones;

(3) The establishment of one-way streets, and regulations governing the directional flow of motor vehicle traffic;

(4) Regulations governing the safety and a condition of commercial vehicles which enter the premises of airport;

(5) Regulations governing the conduct of drivers and other persons associated with commercial vehicles; and

(6) Any and all other regulations necessary and appropriate to insure the efficient, expeditious and safe movement, operation and parking of motor vehicles on the premises of the airport and the operation of the airport.
