§ 2.44.010. Designated.

All county officers shall keep their offices open for the transaction of business from nine a.m. to five p.m. Monday through Friday, excepting that those offices which, pursuant to this section and resolution of the board of supervisors adopted pursuant thereto, provide a ten-hour workday for their employees shall be open for eleven continuous hours, or in the case of those offices taking one-half-hour lunch periods, ten and one-half continuous hours, said hours to be determined by the department head, and further provided, that if any county officer has no regularly appointed deputy paid by the county at the same time and in the same manner as the principal, he or she may close his or her office during the hour from twelve noon to one p.m. and further excepting that these offices shall not be open for business on any legal holiday.

§ 2.44.020. Nonpublic access during office hours.

Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in Section 2.44.010, any county department head may, with the approval of the board of supervisors, provide for a period or periods during the workday during which that department shall not be available to the public for the transaction of business.
