§ 2.12.010. Creation of office.¶
Pursuant to Welfare and Institutions Code Section 271, there is created within the merit system of the county of Lassen, state of California, the office of chief probation officer. Pursuant to Penal Code Section 1203.5, the chief probation officer shall be the ex officio adult probation officer.

§ 2.12.020. Appointment/term.¶
The chief probation officer shall be appointed by the board of supervisors and shall serve at the will of the board of supervisors, or as otherwise provided by contract.

§ 2.12.030. Duties.¶
The duties of the chief probation officer shall be as otherwise prescribed by law.

§ 2.12.040. Compensation.¶
The compensation of the chief probation officer shall be fixed by the board of supervisors.
