Chapter 9.236 — OPEN SPACE CONSERVATION DISTRICT

§ 9.236.010. Purpose.

The purpose of the open space conservation district is to provide for the preservation of regionally significant open space lands.

§ 9.236.020. Permitted uses.

The following principal uses are permitted subject to the approval of a site development permit per Chapter 9.184 :

  • A. Regional parks;

  • B. Local parks;

  • C. National forests;

  • D. Public/private roads;

  • E. Riding and hiking trails;

  • F. Bikeways.

§ 9.236.030. Accessory uses permitted.

The following accessory uses and structures are permitted when customarily associated with and subordinate to a permitted principal use on the same building site:

  • A. Restrooms;

  • B. Information centers;

  • C. Maintenance buildings;

  • D. Riding and hiking trails;

  • E. Ranger stations;

  • F. Parking lots per Chapter 9.168 .

  • G. Signs per Chapter 9.164 .

  • H. Accessory uses and structures which the Director finds consistent with the purpose and intent of this district.

§ 9.236.040. Prohibited uses.

The following uses are specifically prohibited:

  • A. Use of chain-link fence except during construction;

  • B. All uses not expressly permitted above.

§ 9.236.050. Site development standards.

  • A. Building Site Area. Two acres minimum.

  • B. Building Height. Eighteen feet maximum measured per Section 9.144.050 .

  • C. Building Site Coverage. Ten percent maximum.

  • D. Off-Street Parking. Per Chapter 9.168 .

  • E. Building Setbacks. All buildings, structures and off-street parking facilities shall be set back a minimum of 50 feet from any public or private street.
