Sec. 2.10.010. - Authority and appointment of office.

The office of the City Treasurer is established pursuant to Government Code § 36501. The City Treasurer shall be appointed by, and report to, the City Manager. The City Manager may serve as, or appoint, an "Acting City Treasurer" at any time during the absence of a permanent City Treasurer. Such Acting City Treasurer shall have all the powers and duties prescribed by this chapter.

Sec. 2.10.030. - Functions.

The City Treasurer shall perform such duties as are prescribed by Government Code Title 4, Division 3, Part 3, Chapter 3 (Government Code § 41000 et seq.) and by any other provisions of law applicable to deposit, investment, and safekeeping of public funds of the City.
