§ 8.38.010. Consistency with county plan.¶
All applicable zoning, subdivision, conditional use permit, and variance decisions and approvals shall be consistent with the portions of the Monterey County Hazardous Waste Management Plan which identify general areas or siting criteria for hazardous waste facilities.

§ 8.38.020. Authority to attach conditions and requirements to land use approvals.¶
The provisions of Section 8.38.010 do not limit the authority of the city to attach appropriate conditions to the issuance of any land use approval for a hazardous waste facility in order to protect the public health, safety, or welfare, and do not limit the authority of the city to establish more stringent planning requirements or siting criteria than those specified in the Monterey County Hazardous Waste Management Plan.
