Irvine Municipal Code Ch. 5 Frequency of Collection

Unless otherwise approved by the City Manager, and with the exception of vacant premises meeting the provisions of Section 6-7-301, collections shall occur for all premises at which solid waste is generated not less than once per week. Collection of solid waste shall not be made between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m., and no collection shall occur on Sundays, unless specifically approved by the City Manager. In the event of a holiday, collections shall be completed one day later than the regularly scheduled collection day (adjusted to ensure collection does not occur on Sunday). The following are considered to be holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.

The City Manager may provide written notice to the owner of any premises that the above minimum removal requirements are not sufficient to avoid the creation of a public nuisance due to unique circumstances at such premises. City may direct that solid waste shall be removed by the owner of any premises so notified on a more frequent schedule (as determined by the City Manager) and/or that additional or larger containers shall be utilized (as determined by the City Manager).
