12.28.010 - Public highways, bridges and other county property.¶
No person shall paint, post, attach or affix any handbill, dodger, notice, sign or advertisement upon or to any bridge, fence, building or other property belonging to the county of Imperial, or any tree situated in any public highway of the county; and no person shall deface, mar or disfigure any bridge, fence, building or other structure belonging to the county, or any tree situated in any public highway of the county, by painting, cutting, scratching or breaking the same or attaching or affixing anything thereto.

12.28.020 - Placing of signboards over county highway prohibited—Exceptions.¶
No person shall erect, construct, place or maintain any signboard, billboard, sign or advertisement in, over, or on any public highway of the county of Imperial, excepting cities, civic bodies, fair associations, etc., who shall before erecting any such signboards, billboards or advertisement in, over or on any public highway of the county of Imperial first have same approved by and obtain written permission from the board of supervisors of the county.

12.28.030 - Highway warning signs not prohibited by this chapter.¶
Nothing in this chapter contained shall be construed to prohibit the erection or placing in any highway of mile boards, guide boards or guide posts, or the painting, posting, attaching or affixing of warning signs, notices or sign boards, upon bridges, fences, buildings or other structures belonging to the county of Imperial under authority of the board of supervisors.

12.28.040 - Violations—Penalties.¶
Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction, thereof, shall be punished by a fine of not less than twenty-five dollars ($25.00) and not more than two hundred dollars ($200.00), or by imprisonment in the county jail for a period of not more than fifty (50) days, or by both fine and imprisonment.
