Sec. 5-161. - Adopted by reference; copy on file.¶
The 1997 Edition of the Uniform Building Security Code, as published by the International Conference of Building Officials, including the standards, is hereby adopted by reference as the Security Code of the city and reference is hereby made to the copy now on file in the clerk's office of the city.

Sec. 5-162. - Changes and amendments.¶
(a)
The Uniform Building Security Code is hereby amended by adding thereto a Section 1020 to read as follows based upon express finding of necessity as set forth in Section 1 of this ordinance.
Sec. 1033 Violations—Penalties. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to erect, construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, improve, remove, convert, demolish, equip, use, occupy or maintain any building, structure, or part thereof or cause or permit the same to be done in violation of this code. Every person, firm or corporation who violates any of the provisions of this code is guilty of a misdemeanor. Such person shall be deemed guilty of a separate offense for each and every day or portion thereof during which any violation of any of the provisions of this chapter is committed, continued or permitted. Upon conviction such person is punishable by a fine not exceeding one thousand dollars, ($1,000) or by imprisonment in the county jail for a period not exceeding six (6) months, or by both such fine and imprisonment for each offense.
