10.52.010 - Statutory authority.

Hereafter, the city shall regulate all speed zones pursuant to Chapter 7 of Division 11 of the State Vehicle Code by resolution.

10.52.015 - Speed zones and regulating of traffic.

Pursuant to the provisions of Section 22357 of the California Vehicle Code, it is determined that on certain streets, speeds of vehicular traffic greater than twenty-five miles per hour would facilitate the orderly movement of vehicular traffic and would be reasonable on the streets at the prima facie speed limit of thirty, thirty-five, forty, forty-five, fifty, fifty-five, sixty and sixty-five miles per hour as respectively set and that all remaining residential and business streets in the city, as set forth pursuant to Section 22352 of the California Vehicle Code, a greater speed than twenty-five miles per hour would not be reasonable or safe and the prima facie speed limits on the streets should not be increased.

10.52.020 - Creation of comprehensive speed zone resolution.

A comprehensive speed zone resolution is created which shall exist as Appendix I of this code.

10.52.030 - Adjusted speed limits on certain streets.

A. The City Council of the City of Farmersville determines upon basis of an engineering and traffic survey that speeds different than existing speeds would better facilitate the orderly movement of vehicular traffic and would be reasonable and safe upon the following streets of Farmersville at the following speed limits, in miles per hour (MPH):

  1. Noble Avenue: From city limits east of Road 156 to Farmersville Boulevard remain at forty miles per hour,

  2. Walnut Avenue: From city limits east of Road 156 to Farmersville Boulevard, remains forty miles per hour,

  3. Walnut Avenue: From Farmersville Boulevard to Road 168, remains forty miles per hour,

  4. Petunia Street: From Ventura Avenue to Farmersville Boulevard remains thirty-five miles per hour,

  5. Front Street: From Virginia Avenue and Farmersville Boulevard, remains thirty-five miles per hour,

  6. Visalia Road: From Virginia Avenue to Shasta Avenue, remains forty-five miles per hour,

  7. Visalia Road: From Shasta Avenue to Larry Street, remains thirty-five miles per hour,

  8. Visalia Road: From Larry Street to Brundage Avenue, remains at forty-five miles per hour,

  9. Ventura Avenue: From Walnut Avenue to Petunia Street, remains twenty-five miles per hour,

  10. Farmersville Boulevard: From Noble Avenue to Walnut Avenue, remains fifty miles per hour,

  11. Farmersville Boulevard: From Walnut Avenue to Front Street, remains thirty-five miles per hour,

  12. Farmersville Boulevard: From Front Street to Visalia Road, remains thirty-five miles per hour,

  13. Farmersville Boulevard: From Visalia Road to Tulare Street alignment to remain forty-five miles per hour.

B. The provisions of this section shall not apply to any twenty-five miles per hour prima facie limit that is applicable when passing a school building or the grounds thereof.
