Chapter 133 — WEAPONS OFFENSES

§ 133.01 DEFINITIONS. ¶
For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
BOW AND ARROW. Any device commonly known as a bow and arrow designed for or which can be used for hunting purposes or making an assault upon persons or property.
DANGEROUS or DEADLY WEAPON. Any knife with a blade three inches or more in length, any spring-blade, switchblade, or snap-blade knife or other similar type knife, any knife, any blade of which is automatically released by a spring mechanism or other mechanical device, any ice pick or similar sharp, stabbing tool, any straight-edge razor or any razor blade fitted to a handle, or any cutting, stabbing, or bludgeoning weapon or device capable of inflicting grievous bodily harm. § 133.02 LOITERING WHILE CONCEALING DANGEROUS OR DEADLY WEAPONS. ¶
It shall be unlawful for any person, to carry concealed upon his person any dangerous or deadly weapon or to carry any dangerous or deadly weapon upon or about any place where intoxicating liquors are sold.

§ 133.03 FIGHTING WHILE CONCEALING DANGEROUS OR DEADLY WEAPONS. ¶
It shall be unlawful for any person who has concealed upon his person or who has in his immediate physical possession any dangerous or deadly weapon to engage in any fight or to participate in any rough or disorderly conduct upon any public place or way or upon the premises of another.

§ 133.04 EXCEPTIONS. ¶
Sections 133.01 through 133.03 of this chapter shall not be deemed to prohibit the carrying of ordinary tools or equipment carried in good faith for uses in honest work, trade, or business or for the purpose of legitimate recreation. ('63 Code, § 3-9.04) (Ord. 2673, passed 10-24-56)
§ 133.05 SALE, TRANSFER, AND POSSESSION OF DANGEROUS OR DEADLY WEAPONS. ¶
No person shall sell, offer for sale, expose for sale, keep, carry, possess, loan, transfer, or give to any other person any springblade, snap-blade knife, or other similar type knife, or any knife any blade of which is automatically released by a spring mechanism or other mechanical device.

§ 133.06 DISCHARGING FIREARMS. ¶
(A) It shall be unlawful for any person to discharge any firearm, slingshot, air gun, or bow and arrow within the city; provided, however, it shall be lawful to explode firearms within the city not to exceed a 22 caliber rifle, pistol, or revolver using ammunition of velocity and fire power not greater than the 22 caliber shot in a gallery or shooting range provided suitable and proper background shall be provided to prevent bullets or missiles from endangering public safety and provided a permit shall have been issued by the Council for such gallery or shooting range. The Council shall not grant such permit until the Chief of Police shall have inspected the premises wherein such range shall be established and shall have reported thereon to the Council. No permit shall be granted for any gallery or shooting range where intoxicating liquors are dispensed, sold, or stored on the premises. (B) Any such gallery or rifle being of a nonprofit nature or character shall receive a license without charge therefor. All shooting galleries operated or maintained for a profit shall pay the license provided for by the provision of Chapter 110 of this
