Sec. 18-126. - Police department to hold for three (3) months.¶
Any unclaimed property in the possession or under the control of the police department shall be held by the department for a period of at least three (3) months.

Sec. 18-127. - Chief of police authorized to sell at auction.¶
After the expiration of the three-month period specified by section 18-126, the chief of police is hereby authorized and empowered to sell at public auction to the highest bidder for cash any unclaimed property referred to in such section.

Sec. 18-128. - Sale—Notice required.¶
Before making any sale of unclaimed property pursuant to this article, the chief of police shall give notice of the time and place of sale, which notice also shall briefly describe the articles or property to be sold, and such notice shall be published in a newspaper of general circulation within the city at least five (5) days before the date of such sale.

Sec. 18-129. - Same—Disposition of proceeds.¶
The proceeds of a sale pursuant to this article shall be paid into the general fund of the city.
