Sec. 14-16. - Record of purchases, sales, etc.—Required.

Any person holding a license under this article shall keep a register or other book or record in permanent form, wherein there shall be shown all purchases and sales and other transactions in connection with used or secondhand parts or used or secondhand farming implements, as referred to in section 14-36, the day and hour of such transaction and the name, age and address of the seller or purchaser or person involved in such transaction and a description of the merchandise which may be the subject of such transaction sufficiently detailed to identify such article.

Sec. 14-17. - Same—Inspection; copies.

Any person holding a license under this article shall permit an inspection of the book or record, referred to in section 14-16, by the chief of police upon request by the chief of police and shall furnish him with a true and correct copy of such record for any period requested by the chief of police.

Sec. 14-18. - Purchases from any person under eighteen.

It shall be unlawful for any person holding a license under this article to purchase or otherwise obtain from any person under the age of eighteen (18) years any of the parts or articles described in section 14-36 without first having obtained from the chief of police a permit in writing to do.

Sec. 14-19. - Employment of person under eighteen.

It shall be unlawful for any person holding a license under this article to employ in or about the licensed business any person under the age of eighteen (18) years, without first having obtained a permit to do so from the chief of police.

Sec. 14-20. - Inspection of purchases.

Any person holding a license under this article shall permit an inspection of all parts or articles, purchased in the course of business, by the chief of police or by any person authorized by him at any time during business hours when requested to do so.

Sec. 14-21. - Gates to premises.

Gates for access to the premises of junkyards and auto wrecking yards shall swing inwardly, and such gates shall be kept closed when the premises are not open for business.

Sec. 14-22. - Maintenance of walls, fences.

The fences or walls around a business covered by this article shall be maintained in a neat, substantial and safe condition.

Sec. 14-23. - Accessibility of material on premises.

The material located in or on the premises of a junk or auto wrecking yard shall be so arranged that reasonable inspection or access to all parts of the premises can be had at all times by the proper fire, health, police and building authority.

Sec. 14-24. - Height, location of junk piles.

In junkyards and auto wrecking yards in the city, no junk or article shall be piled or permitted to be piled in excess of the height of the enclosing fence or wall or nearer than two and one-half (2½) feet thereto.

Sec. 14-25. - Removal of fuel, oil from vehicles, junk required.

All gasoline, oil or flammable liquid and all gas shall be drained and removed from any unregistered motor vehicle or junk located in a junk or auto wrecking yard.
