3.32.010 - Adoption of City Employees Retirement Act of 1926.

The city council accepts the provisions of the City Employees Retirement Law of 1937, approved June 30, 1937, being Chapter 677 of the Statutes of 1937 of the state, and the city council does, by reference, adopt and incorporate all and every one of the provisions of the law of the state, and amendments thereto, as a part of and applicable to and make all and every one of the provisions a part of and applicable to the system and schedules of compensation of all officers and other persons employed by this city and whose compensation is fixed by this city and whose compensation is paid by this city, and all employees and officers of this city now or hereafter established by ordinance of the city council, who are or may hereafter be eligible to the benefits of any retirement system under the provisions of the law.

3.32.020 - Acceptance and adoption of Section 32679.2 of the Government Code.

The city council does elect to be subject to and does accept the provisions of Government Code Section 31679.2 as the section was in effect at the 15th day of September, 1953.

3.32.030 - Adoption and implementation of Section 31725.5 of the Government Code.

The city council does adopt and make effective in the city, Section 31725.5 of the Government Code providing for the reassignment of disabled members of the East Palo Alto city employees retirement system, and the board of retirement of the system shall implement the provisions of Section 31725.5 made applicable to all such disabled members of the East Palo Alto city employee's retirement system whether heretofore or hereafter retired for disability before the effective date of Section 31725.5 of the Government Code.

3.32.040 - Fixed formula and cost of living increases.

A. The provisions of Section 31676.96 of the Government Code, with respect to the increases in current service pensions and prior service pensions for city officers and employees, are made effective and operative in the city.

B. The provisions of Sections 31869.1, 31871, 31872, 31873, 31875, 31876 and 31877 of the Government Code of the state are made effective and operative as of January 1, 1968, to require the payment of not to exceed three percent per year cost of living increases pursuant to Section 31870.1.

C. The provisions of Section 31874.2 of the Government Code of the state are made effective and operative in the city as of January 1, 1975, to require the payment of cost of living increases not to exceed five percent per year.

3.32.050 - Termination of cost-of-living benefit of the city retirement system for…

Pursuant to Government Code Section 31483, the provisions of Section 2733(b) and (c) authorizing cost-of-living increases for retired employees are hereby terminated as to employees of the city or any district included in the city retirement system whose services commence on or after July 6, 1980.
