Delano Municipal Code Ch. 3.10 Annual Audit

After July 1st of each year, the city manager shall cause an audit to be made of the city's financial statements and supporting accounting records for the immediate preceding fiscal year. this audit shall proceed in a timely manner, dependent upon other factors which may have a direct effect on timeliness. Selection of the audit firm shall be made by April 1st of each year.

The audit examination shall include all funds and account groups of the city except any funds that may have required a special financial and compliance audit. A review and evaluation of the city's accounting procedures and system of internal control will be required, with findings and recommendations included in a management letter to the city.

All examinations will be conducted in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards in conformance with guidelines set forth in the American Institute of Certified Public Accounting (AICPA) Industry Audit Guides.

Audit firm shall be a certified public accounting firm licensed to practice in the state. The auditor shall meet all AICPA tests of independency, and shall have appropriate experience in the audit of governmental units and attained a high level of proficiency in professional practice.
