When it has been determined upon the basis of an engineering and traOc investigation that the speed permitted by State law outside of business and residence areas is greater than is reasonable or safe under the conditions found to exist upon any street, the Council may by resolution declare that the prima facie speed limit is set at a lower limit, and such speed limit shall become ePective when signs are erected giving notice thereof.

56.50.020 Increase of State law maximum speed.

Whenever it has been determined upon the basis of an engineering and traOc survey that the speed permitted by State law is less than is reasonable or safe under the conditions found to exist upon any street, the Council may by resolution declare that the prima facie speed limit is set at a greater when signs are erected giving notice thereof.
