Chapter 17.58 — FP-3 - TERTIARY FLOODPLAIN ZONE

17.58.010 Established – Purpose.

(A) It is intended by this chapter to establish a Tertiary Floodplain Combining Zone which shall apply to properties which lie within a primary or secondary floodplain, but which have been protected by manmade dikes or levees constructed by local, state or federal agencies for the protection of the area so zoned or protected by dikes or levees constructed by private persons according to the construction standards followed by local, state or federal agencies in this construction of the protective barriers.

(B) There is established a Tertiary Floodplain Combining Zone, designated as FP-3, which when shown upon the zoning map of the city in combination with a basic zoning symbol such as R-1, C-2 and M-2, shall cause the property so designated to be subject to the code provisions relating to such combining zone and the provisions set forth in this chapter.

17.58.020 Application of regulations.

The regulations set forth in this chapter shall apply in all zones with which are combined the FP-3 zone, in addition to the regulations specified in this title; provided, however, if any of the regulations specified in § 17.58.030 differ from any corresponding regulations specified in this title for any zone with which the FP-3 zone is combined, then in such case the provisions of this chapter shall prevail.

17.58.030 Permitted uses.

Uses permitted in a FP-3 zone are as follows: all uses permitted in the respective zone with which the FP-3 zone is combined.
