I. - PARKED VEHICLES OBSTRUCTING ACCESS¶
6.28.010 - Prohibited.¶
No Vehicle of any kind Shall be parked or left unattended and no other obstacles or Obstructions Shall be placed upon the Premises of any so-called gasoline dispensing stations or any Premises where gasoline or other highly inflammable liquids or Materials are located, placed, stored or dispensed so as to create any Obstruction that would interfere with the free and easy Access by firefighting equipment to the tanks, pumps or other places on said Premises where gasoline or other highly inflammable liquids or Materials are located, stored or dispensed.

6.28.020 - Vehicles under supervision Permitted.¶
Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained herein, Section 6.28.010 Shall not apply to any Vehicle or Obstruction placed upon any of the aforesaid Premises while the Obstructions and Vehicles are under the direct control and supervision of the f or lawful custodian thereof; provided, however, that they are located and attended, that the same could be moved immediately from any area of the Premises threatened by fire by the Owner, lawful custodian or such other authorized Person present for such purpose.

6.28.030 - Penalty for Violations.¶
Any Person who violates any of the provisions of Section 6.28.010 and 6.28.020 is guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof Shall be punishable by a fine of not more than three hundred dollars, or by imprisonment for a period not to exceed three Months, or by both such fine and imprisonment.

II. - SELF-SERVICE AUTOMOBILE FILLING STATIONS¶
6.28.040 - Regulations conformance.¶
All self-service automobile filling stations within the City limits Must conform to the rules, regulations and requirements as set out in Sections 6.28.050 through 6.28.230.

6.28.050 - Safety nozzles.¶
All Gas lines are to be equipped with automatic safety nozzles.

6.28.060 - Signs required.¶
"NO SMOKING" and "STOP YOUR MOTOR" Signs, red letters on white background, are to be placed at each pump island and so located that they can be seen from both sides of the island.

6.28.070 - Pump—Shut-off switch required.¶
Each pump is to be equipped with manually operated shut-off switch or lever.

6.28.080 - CO2 extinguishers—Substitute.¶
One CO 2 extinguisher of at least five-pound size is to be placed on each island. Two CO 2 extinguishers of at least fifteen-pound size are to be located as required by the Fire Department. DU-GAS extinguishers May be substituted for all CO 2 extinguishers.

6.28.090 - Water lines required—Use.¶
Not less than two water lines of at least one-inch size, properly equipped with adequate fixed fog nozzles are to be provided and so located that complete coverage of all Gas islands can be made. Such hose lines and nozzles are to be Used for first aid fire equipment only.

6.28.100 - Electrical fixtures—Requirements—Approval.¶
All electrical fixtures, installed by the Owner or Operator, within ten feet of any pump or vent pipe are to be vapor- or explosion-proof, and/or Approved by the National Board of Fire Underwriters or other recognized testing laboratory.

6.28.110 - Telephone facilities.¶
Telephone facilities, if available, are to be provided on Premises.

6.28.120 - Building location.¶
No Buildings are to be located within twenty-five feet of any pump unless such Building is of noncombustible Material.

6.28.130 - Control Room—Requirements—Defined.¶
The Control Room is to be centrally located and elevated at least one foot, and have an inside area of not less than twenty-five square feet and be so arranged that the Operator will have a clear and unobstructed view of all islands.
"Control Room" means a room where electric switches controlling all gasoline pumps are located.

6.28.140 - Control Room—Door location.¶
The door to a Control Room Shall not be placed on side facing pump.

6.28.150 - Attendants—Instruction.¶
All Attendants are to be thoroughly instructed in the Use of extinguishers and water in case of fire. Also they are to be instructed in prohibiting and preventing patrons from Smoking around the pumps. Service is to be refused and pump shut off when Persons do not follow instructions.

6.28.160 - Open-flame device prohibited when.¶
No open-flame device is to be located or Permitted within twenty-five feet from any pump.

6.28.170 - Inflammable Material prohibited when.¶
No inflammable Material having a low flash point is to be stored or on display within twenty-five feet of any pump.

6.28.180 - Underground storage tank—Filling requirements.¶
There Shall be no filling of automobile gasoline tanks, or the operation of any gasoline dispensing pumps while the underground storage tanks are being filled, unless an Approved type of vapor-proof connection is provided between underground tank and filling truck. Nor will there be Permitted any Smoking, or any flame, or any spark-producing device or apparatus within twenty-five feet of any tank truck unloading into the underground tanks.

6.28.190 - Coin-operated gasoline dispensers prohibited.¶
No coin-operated gasoline dispensing machine is to be Permitted on Premises.

6.28.200 - Spillage clean-up.¶
All gasoline or oils spilled on the ground Shall be cleaned up immediately.

6.28.210 - Mops and rags storage.¶
Mops or rags Used for cleaning purposes are to be stored or maintained at least twenty-five feet from every pump.

6.28.220 - Waste Material—Container required.¶
All waste Material and Rubbish is to be placed and kept in an all-metal or metal-lined container, such container to be equipped with self-closing top. All such waste Material and Rubbish is to be kept in such container until it is disposed of or removed from the Premises.

6.28.230 - Skates prohibited—Exception.¶
The Use of skates or other artificial means of locomotion Shall be prohibited, unless same be equipped with nonferrous wheels.

6.28.240 - Penalty for Violations.¶
Any Person violating any of the provisions of Sections 6.28.040 through 6.28.230 is guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof Shall be punishable by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars, or by imprisonment in the County Jail for a period of not more than six Months or by both such fine and imprisonment; and each such Person, his principal, agent, or otherwise is guilty of a separate offense for each Day during any portion of which the Violation of, failure, neglect or refusal to comply with any of the provisions of Sections 6.28.040 through 6.28.230 is committed, continued or Permitted such Person.
