6.24.010 - Defined.

For purposes of this chapter, "Liquefied Gases" are defined as all Gases derived from petroleum or natural Gas that are in the Gaseous state at normal atmospheric temperature and pressure, and which are or which May be maintained in the liquid state at normal atmospheric temperature by various pressures.

6.24.020 - Storage—Permit required.

No Person, firm or corporation Shall place, keep, store, Permit or allow to be placed, kept or stored on any Premises or place under their ownership, care or control any Liquefied Gases, as defined in Section 6.24.010, at any place whatsoever within the City without having first obtained a Permit to do so from the Chief of the Fire Department of the City; and in no case Shall such a Permit be issued or such placing, keeping or storing be Permitted where same May create a dangerous condition or a serious fire hazard.

6.24.030 - Transporting—Exemption from chapter provisions when.

Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained herein, the provisions of this chapter Shall not apply to any Person, firm or corporation while they are lawfully transporting the Liquefied Gases through the City, provided and only provided, said Person, firm or corporation Shall comply with all safety Laws of every nature whatsoever while so transporting the Liquefied Gases.

6.24.040 - Penalty for Violations.

Any Person or Persons violating any provision of this chapter is guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof, Shall be punishable by a fine not exceeding five hundred dollars, or by imprisonment in the County Jail not exceeding six Months or by both such fine and imprisonment.

6.24.050 - Liability for damages.

In addition to liability by reason of any penal provision herein, any Person, firm or corporation violating any provision of this chapter is liable to the City for any and all damage that May occur by reason of any negligence or wilful Act on their Part in failing to comply with the terms hereof.
