5.40.010 - Definitions.¶
A. As Used in this chapter, "Trampoline" means rebound-tumbling equipment utilizing a fabric bed or surface designed to provide resilience by virtue of its own elasticity or that provided by an elastic or spring suspension system, or both, within a stable frame and intended to be Used for jumping, bouncing, or acrobatic tumbling.
B. "Trampoline Center" means a place where Trampolines or rebound-tumbling equipment is provided and maintained for public Use.

5.40.020 - License required.¶
Every Person, firm or corporation Exhibiting, showing or operating a Trampoline Center and charging a Fee for the same Shall procure a license and pay a quarterly license Fee under and pursuant to Ordinance No. 412 of the City and amendments thereto.

5.40.030 - Liability insurance required.¶
An Operator of a Trampoline Center Shall procure and at all times maintain in full force and effect a policy of liability insurance for each Trampoline, insuring the same against liability arising from personal injury within limits of not less than twenty-five thousand dollars for any one Person for each occurrence and fifty thousand dollars for any one occurrence. The Operator Shall file a true Copy of his insurance policy or policies with the Director of Finance and Shall authorize his insurance Carrier to notify the Director of Finance in the event of any lapse in said insurance.

5.40.040 - Equipment—Layout requirements.¶
A. Trampoline equipment Shall be located on a level surface in such a way as to be within view of the Operator or attendant at all times.
B. The spacing of Trampoline units Shall conform to the Following minimum dimensions as measured from the inside edge of the frame:
Three feet between sides of units;
Four feet between ends of units;
Five feet from ends to nearest Fence, Building, or other similar construction;
Three feet from sides or corners to nearest Fence, Building, or other similar construction.
C. The area surrounding the Trampoline equipment Shall be surfaced to prevent a dust Nuisance and have a reasonably level surface of pea gravel or equivalent type of Material from a safety and dust control standpoint.

5.40.050 - Equipment—Condition.¶
Trampoline equipment Shall be maintained in good state of repair. Trampoline equipment which has broken webbing Shall not be Used. The Operator thereof Shall take precautionary measures to prevent broken springs from disengaging from the assembly.

5.40.060 - Pit construction—Depth.¶
Pits for rebound tumbling centers Shall be so constructed that they will not interfere with the operation of the equipment and of a depth not less than three feet nor more than four feet at centers.

5.40.070 - Pit construction—Framing.¶
Such pits Shall be so framed that the Trampoline equipment is held in a level position and is supported on a solid stable surface. Lumber Used as framing for pits Shall be not less than two inches in thickness and Shall be securely connected together.

5.40.080 - Padding.¶
The frames of Trampoline equipment Shall be completely padded to provide reasonable safety. Pads two inches thick filled with cotton liners Shall be deemed to meet this requirement.

5.40.090 - Fencing.¶
The entire Trampoline Center Shall be completely enclosed by fencing not less than five feet in height.

5.40.100 - Inspection.¶
The Building official Shall inspect annually, or as frequently as he deems advisable, every Trampoline Center.

5.40.110 - Conformance to Uniform Building Code.¶
Nothing herein Shall modify, change or alter any applicable provision, not in conflict herewith, of Chapter 15.04 adopting the Uniform Building Code of the City.

5.40.120 - Rules and regulations.¶
The Owner or Operator of a Trampoline Center Shall enforce, and all customers using Trampoline equipment Shall observe and obey the Following rules and regulations which Shall be printed in clear, easily read letters not less than one inch in size, and posted in one or more conspicuous and well-lighted locations within the Trampoline Center:
A. Not over one Person on the apparatus at a time;
B. No flips, twists, or similar difficult routines unless under the immediate supervision of a qualified instructor, or until qualified as demonstrated by an officially acceptable certificate or as determined by the Operator. In case of dispute with a patron, the Operator's ruling Shall be final;
C. No Use of equipment in shoes or in bare feet;
D. All patrons Shall strictly and promptly comply with requests or requirements of Operator;
E. No Use while under the influence of any Alcoholic Beverage or when not in condition to safely Use the equipment, as determined by Operator;
F. No jumping from apparatus to apparatus or to any point outside the frame of the apparatus;
G. No actions allowed which will or May seriously distract or interfere with a Performer;
H. No children under six Years of age Shall be allowed;
I. No Smoking, eating or drinking while using the equipment.

5.40.130 - Supervision.¶
A. A Trampoline Center, whenever open for Use, Shall be under direct supervision of as many supervisors as are necessary to comply with the posted rules.
B. The supervisor Shall be observing all equipment units whenever they are in Use.
C. Each unit Shall be numbered or otherwise clearly Designated.
D. A suitable loudspeaker system Shall be maintained to enforce the rules except where there are less than eight units.
E. There Shall be at least one supervisor on active supervising duty for each twelve units or fractional Part which are in Use.

5.40.140 - Qualifications of supervisors.¶
A Trampoline supervisor Shall be:
A. Eighteen Years of age or over;
B. Of good moral character;
C. Trained and experienced in the supervision and control of personnel, both skilled and unskilled, in the art of rebound tumbling;
D. Physically and otherwise fully fit to manage the Facility.

5.40.150 - Accident handling and reporting.¶
The Operator of a Trampoline Center Shall:
A. Direct to competent care for handling and disposition all accidents and injuries;
B. Unless the County Health Officer agrees to accept a verbal or telephonic report, report in writing to the County Health Officer all accidents of a nature to cause unconsciousness, broken or sprained extremities or bones, removal, breaking or loosening of teeth, hemorrhaging or lacerations which May require suturing and eye injuries;
C. Maintain on the Premises records of all medical aid or care administered;
D. Keeping in a place readily available at all times to himself and his Employees, the telephone number of available Emergency Service.

5.40.160 - Telephone required.¶
The Operator of a Trampoline Center Shall maintain on the Premises a telephone which Shall be available for Emergency Use at all times during which the Trampoline Center is in operation.

5.40.170 - First aid equipment.¶
The Operator of a Trampoline Center at all times Shall maintain on the Premises and replenish as necessary an adequate first aid kit of at least sixteen units, as recommended by the American Red Cross First Aid Manual.

5.40.180 - Sanitation of Premises required.¶
The Operator of a Trampoline Center Shall keep the Premises and all facilities in a clean condition. He Shall provide, as needed to prevent litter, waste containers and appropriate Signs.

5.40.190 - Drinking facilities.¶
The Operator of a Trampoline Center Shall provide on the Premises drinking facilities which Shall consist of either a sanitary drinking fountain or bottled water and paper cups available in a suitable sanitary dispenser.

5.40.200 - Toilet facilities.¶
On the Premises of a Trampoline Center the Operator Shall, at all times maintain not less than one water-flush type toilet for each sex.
