Clayton Municipal Code Ch. 10.30 Commercial Vehicles—use of Certain Streets Prohibited

A. Whenever provisions to this code or any other City ordinance designates and describes any street or portion thereof as a street the use of which is prohibited by any commercial vehicle, the traffic engineer shall erect and maintain appropriate signs on those streets or portions thereof effected by such ordinance. When signs are so erected as herein provided, no driver of any commercial vehicles shall disobey the directions of such signs unless the hereinafter mentioned statutory exceptions are applicable.

B. The following streets or portions of streets are hereby declared to be residential streets, the use of which is prohibited by any commercial vehicle:

1. The most westerly leg of Eagle Peak Avenue between Oakhurst Drive and Keller Ridge Drive.

A. Nothing in this chapter shall prohibit the operator of any commercial vehicle coming from an unrestricted street having ingress and egress by direct route to and from a restricted street when necessary for the purpose of making pick up or deliveries of goods, wares, and merchandise from or to any building or structure located on the restricted street or for the purpose of delivering materials to be used in the actual and bona fide repair, alteration, remodeling, or construction of any building or structure upon the restricted street for which a building permit has previously been obtained.

B. Nothing in this chapter shall be applicable to passenger buses or any other vehicle which is subject to the jurisdiction of the Public Utilities Commission.
