Sec. 18-56. - Title.¶
This article shall be known as the "Citrus Heights Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings."

Sec. 18-57. - Authority having jurisdiction.¶
The chief building official of the city (also referred to as "building official") is designated to be the authority having jurisdiction of the Citrus Heights building codes. The chief building official shall administer, enforce, and render interpretations of the provisions of the Citrus Heights Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, and shall, upon application and after receipt of proper documentation as required under this chapter, grant permits for the construction, alteration, maintenance, and moving of all buildings and structures within this jurisdiction.

Sec. 18-58. - Adopted.¶
In order to provide a just, equitable, and practical method, to be cumulative with and in addition to any other remedy provided by the 2025 California Building Code, 2024 International Property Maintenance Code, 1997 Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, and any other law, whereby buildings or structures which from any cause endanger the life, limb, health, morals, property, and/or safety of the general public or their occupants may be required to be repaired, vacated, or demolished, the 1997 edition of the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, published by the International Conference of Building Officials, except as specifically repealed or amended by ordinance of the city, is hereby adopted and made a part of this article as though set forth in full. A true and correct copy of the 2024 International Property Maintenance Code, 1997 Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings as adopted by this section shall be on file in the office of the city clerk for inspection and use by the public.

Sec. 18-59. - Amendments to the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings.¶
The Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings adopted in Section 18-58 shall be amended as follows:
A. Section 103 "Alterations, Additions, and Repairs" is amended to read as follows:
Section 103 - ALTERATIONS, ADDITIONS AND REPAIRS.
All buildings or structures which are required to be repaired under the provisions of this code shall be subject to the provisions of the currently enforced California Building Codes and any other laws and ordinances of the state or local government.
B. Section 203 "Violations" is deleted.
C. Section 205 "Board of Appeals" is deleted. Appeals will be conducted as per City policy for appeals of building code; See separate ordinance.
D. Section 301 "General", the definition of "Building Code" is amended to read:
BUILDING CODE is the California Building Code, as adopted by this jurisdiction.
E. Section 301 "General", the definition of "Housing Code" is amended to read:
HOUSING CODE is the International Property Maintenance Code, as adopted by this jurisdiction.
