The chief building official of the city (also referred to as "building official") is designated to be the authority having jurisdiction of the Citrus Heights building codes. The chief building official shall administer, enforce, and render interpretations of the provisions of the Citrus Heights Sign Code, and shall, upon application and after receipt of proper documentation as required under this chapter, grant permits for the construction, alteration, maintenance, and moving of all buildings and structures within this jurisdiction.

Subject to additions, amendments, or deletions set forth in Section 18-239 of this chapter, Appendix H: Signs of the International Building Code (hereinafter referred to as the "Citrus Heights Sign Code"), 2024 Edition, published by the International Code Council, is adopted and made part of this title as though fully set forth herein to provide the procedures for administration and enforcement of the provisions of the Citrus Heights building codes. One copy of the Appendix H: Signs, International Building Code, 2024 Edition shall be kept on file in the community development department and shall be available for use and examination by the public.

A. Section H101.1, "General" is amended to read as follows:

• Reference to IBC "Chapter 10 Means of Egress" will refer to CBC "Chapter 10 Means of Egress."

B. Section H102.1, "General" is amended to read as follows:

• Reference to IBC "Chapter 2 Definitions" will refer to CBC "Chapter 2 Definitions."

C. Section H105.2, "Permits, drawings and specifications" is amended to read as follows:

• Reference to IBC "Chapter 1 Scope and Administration" will refer to CBC "Chapter 1 Scope and Administration."

D. Section H105.3, "Wind load" is amended to read as follows:

• Reference to IBC "Chapter 16 Structural Design" will refer to CBC "Chapter 16 Structural Design."

E. Section H105.4, "Seismic load" is amended to read as follows:

• Reference to IBC "Chapter 16 Structural Design" will refer to CBC "Chapter 16 Structural Design."

F. Section H105.5, "Working stresses" is amended to read as follows:

G. Section H106.1, "Illumination" is amended to read as follows:

H. Section H106.1.1, "Internally illuminated signs" is amended to read as follows:
