6.20.010 - Antiepidemic measures.

Whenever in the judgment of the council an epidemic of rabies exists or is threatened, the council may authorize the health officer to take such measures as may be necessary to prevent the spread of the disease, including the declaration of a quarantine against all dogs and cats or dogs or cats within the corporate limits of the city, for a period of not more than ninety days.

6.20.020 - Extent of quarantine.

Such a quarantine as designated by Section 6.20.010 shall consist of the confinement of all dogs or cats within the designated area upon the private premises of the owner under restraint by leash or within properly constructed enclosures.

6.20.030 - Restrictions while in public places.

Persons over the age of fourteen years may take their dogs or cats upon the public streets and highways, and in automobiles and other vehicles other than buses or other public conveyances, when such dogs or cats are controlled by suitable leash not over six feet in length.

6.20.040 - Animals specifically confined.

Those dogs or cats quarantined as provided in this title and confined to the premises of their owners or such other place as may be designated by the health officer or his representative shall not be permitted to leave such premises.
