I. - License

5.60.010 - Tax.

Every person maintaining and operating card tables or who permits the playing of card games within or in connection with any pool or billiard parlor or restaurant or cafeteria or wherein wine, beer or liquor is sold shall pay a license tax of two hundred dollars per year for each card table. Such person shall also be subject to the provisions of Chapter 9 of this code, in addition to license fees for the primary business.

5.60.020 - Regulating authority.

The chief of police shall prescribe regulations for the licensing of cardrooms, card tables, cardroom operators, managers and dealers and may require such cardroom operator, manager or dealer to be photographed and fingerprinted.

5.60.030 - Issuance.

Licenses for cardrooms or card tables shall be issued only to the operator or owner of the principal business conducted on the premises wherein such card tables are located. For the purposes of this section, a cardroom shall not be regarded as a principal business unless it occupies separate premises.

5.60.040 - Revocation.

The chief of police shall revoke any cardroom, cardroom operator, manager or dealer license operated in violation of this chapter.

II. - Restrictions

5.60.050 - Accessibility from street required.

All premises in which card games are in play or progress shall be directly accessible from a street.

5.60.060 - Intoxicated persons prohibited.

Operators, managers and dealers of cardrooms shall not allow intoxicated persons to participate in any card game for money, check or markers of value.
