§ 9.20

This chapter 9.20 of the Tracy Municipal Code may be referred to as the "City Housing Code," and is adopted pursuant to Government Code section 50022.2. For purpose of clarity, the term "Code," when used alone, shall refer to the Tracy Municipal Code.

The purpose of this chapter is to provide minimum standards to safeguard life or limb, health, property, and public welfare by regulating the use and occupancy, location and maintenance of all residential buildings and structures within the City. The purpose of this chapter is not to create or otherwise establish or designate any particular class or group of persons who will or should be especially protected or benefitted by the terms of this chapter.

9.20.030 - Adoption by reference of the Uniform Housing Code.

The City hereby adopts by reference the code entitled "1997 Uniform Housing Code," published by the International Conference of Building Officials (hereinafter "Uniform Housing Code"), as amended by this chapter. The Uniform Housing Code is on file with the City Clerk, and is available for inspection and copying in accordance with Government Code section 50022.6.

Uniform Housing Code section 204, Violations, is amended by deleting the text of section 204, and replacing it with the following:

(a) Violations of this chapter shall be enforced by the City in accordance with Tracy Municipal Code section 9.02.040.
