87.0615 Business and Commercial Uses.

(a) General business, except as herein specified: one parking space for each 250 square feet of building floor area; a minimum of four parking spaces shall be provided for each use.

(b) Amusement enterprises, commercial recreation, and similar uses such as shooting ranges, race tracks, miniature golf course, pitch and putt courses, parks and zoos: one parking space for each four persons using or attending the facilities.

(c) Automobile sales, boat sales, mobilehome sales, retail nurseries, and other open uses not in a building or structure: one parking space for each 2,000 square feet of open area devoted to display or sales, provided, however, that where such area exceeds 10,000 square feet, only one parking space need be provided for each 5,000 square feet of such area in excess of the first 10,000 square feet contained in such area.

(d) Bowling alleys and billiard halls: five parking spaces for each bowling lane and two parking spaces for each billiard table.

(e) Chapels and mortuaries: one parking space for each three fixed seats and for every 20 square feet of seating area where there are no fixed seats, all to be within the main chapel, and one parking space for each 400 square feet of floor area outside the main chapel; 24 linear inches of bench or pew shall be considered a fixed seat.

(f) Child care centers: one parking space for each employee or teacher and one parking space for each five children that the facility is designed to accommodate.

(g) Children’s homes: one and one-half parking spaces for each employee on the largest shift.

(h) Churches: one parking space for each four fixed seats or for every 25 square feet of seating area within the main auditorium where there are no fixed seats; 24 linear inches of bench or pew shall be considered a fixed seat.

(i) Dance halls: one parking space for each 20 square feet of dance floor area, and one parking space for each three fixed seats and for each 20 square feet of seating area where there are no fixed seats.

(j) Golf courses and driving ranges, but not to include miniature golf courses: four parking spaces per hole on all golf courses, and one parking space per tee for driving ranges.

(k) Hospital: one parking space for each two patient beds, and one parking space for each staff member and employee on the largest shift.

(l) Medical offices, clinics, veterinary hospitals: five parking spaces for each doctor or dentist.

(m) Offices, banks, building and loan associations, business and professional uses: one parking space for each 250 square feet of floor area; a minimum of four such parking spaces shall be provided.

(n) Organization camps: one and one-half parking spaces for each staff member or employee.

(o) Restaurants, including drive-ins, cafés, night clubs, taverns, and other similar places where food or refreshments are dispensed: one parking space for each three seats and for every 50 square feet of floor area where seats may be placed; a minimum of 10 parking spaces shall be provided.

(p) Skating rinks, ice or roller: one parking space for each three fixed seats and for each 20 square feet of seating area where there are no fixed seats, and one parking space for each 250 square feet of skating area; 24 linear inches of bench shall be considered a fixed seat.

(q) Large residential care facilities and boarding houses: one parking space for each three residents based on the resident capacity of the home as listed on the required license or permit, plus one parking space for each staff member and employee who will be on-site during the largest shift; these parking requirements apply regardless of whether the use exists in a residential or commercial zoning district.

(r) Motels and hotels: one parking space for each guest room; these parking requirements apply regardless of whether the use exists in a residential or commercial zoning district.

(s) Bed and breakfast lodges: in addition to the required parking standards for residential uses, one parking stall 19 feet in length and nine feet in width shall be provided on-site for each guest room. Such additional parking spaces shall comply with the location and design standards established by the applicable Land Use District. These parking requirements apply regardless of whether the use exists in a residential or commercial zoning district. Neither on-street parking nor tandem parking shall be used to satisfy this on-site parking requirement. Additional parking spaces may be required when deemed necessary by the reviewing authority.

(t) Commercial swimming pools and swimming schools: one parking space for each 500 square feet of water surface area; a minimum of 10 parking spaces shall be provided.

(u) Theaters, auditoriums, stadiums, sport arenas, gymnasiums, and similar places of public assembly: one parking space for each four fixed seats and for every 24 square feet of seating area where there are no fixed seats. (Amended by Ord. 345 § 13, 2016)87.0615
