2.151.010. - Fees and mileage established.¶
(a) The per diem fee for service as a Grand Juror shall be as provided Penal Code § 890. The per diem fee shall also be paid for each day's attendance at a Grand Jury committee meeting, a Grand Juror educational seminar, and the initial meeting of the Grand Jury as may be held on the same day as the Grand Jury is sworn. The foregoing is limited to one per diem fee per day and to a maximum of eight per month for attendance at Grand Jury committee meetings. However, upon approval from the Foreperson and the Presiding Judge, the maximum number of meetings may be increased as long as the Grand Jury does not incur expenses in excess of the amount budgeted by the County Board of Supervisors, unless proper budget adjustments are requested and approved in accordance with law.
(b) Grand Jury mileage reimbursement shall be made on the same legal basis and to the same extent as Grand Juror per diem fees as set forth in this Section.

2.151.020. - Payment of fees and mileage.¶
Per diem and mileage reimbursement shall be claimed or ordered and paid as provided in Penal Code § 890.1.

2.151.030. - Severability.¶
If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase, provision or portion of this Chapter, or the application thereof to any person or circumstances, is for any reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or provisions of this Chapter or their applicability to distinguishable situations or circumstances. In enacting this Chapter, it is the desire of the Board of Supervisors to validly regulate to the full measure of its legal authority in the public interest, and to that end, the Board of Supervisors declares that it would have adopted this Chapter and each section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase, provision, or portion thereof, irrespective of the fact that any one or more sections, subsections, sentences, clauses, phrases or portions thereof might be declared invalid or unconstitutional in whole or in part, as applied to any particular situation or circumstances, and to this end the provisions of this Chapter are intended to be severable.
