13.52.010 - Permitting.

Permits for a roof sign shall be considered as part of the administrative permit process defined in Section 13.08.060.

13.52.020 - Standards.

A. Roof signs shall be permitted only on buildings that do not possess adequate areas or visibility for the location of other types of identification signs.

B. Roof signs shall not be permitted on buildings with sloped and mansard roofs unless the sign fascia is placed at a plane parallel to the building wall while the back of the sign is screened from view by either recessing the sign into the roof slope or by providing screening to the rear of the sign to create a boxed -in area.

C. Roof signs shall only be placed atop those areas within the boundaries of the tenant space.

D. In no event shall the height of the roof sign be greater than the height of the roof ridge top or highest point of the coping on a flat roof.

13.52.030 - Area limit.

Advertising surface of a roof sign or a combination of roof and wall signs shall not exceed one hundred (100) square feet. In no event shall the area of a roof sign or combination of roof and wall signs exceed twenty (20) percent of the area of the building wall parallel to the sign.
