1.01.010 - Adoption of the Williams Municipal Code.

The Williams Municipal Code, 1979, published by Book Publishing Company and the whole thereof is hereby adopted by this reference and incorporated herein as if set forth in full.

1.01.020 - Code—Primary code—Secondary code—Adoption by reference.

The Williams Municipal Code, 1979, is a codification of the general and permanent ordinances of the City of Williams, California, and as originally published covers ordinances through ordinance 78-6 passed March 14, 1978, but this adoption shall include amendments and revisions thereof from time to time made which are duly passed and adopted, which together with the original volume, as used in this section, means a primary code within the meaning of Sections 50022.1(a) and 50022.1(b) of California Government Code.

The adoption of the Williams Municipal Code, 1979, shall also be an adoption by reference in whole or in part of any secondary codes as defined by Section 50022.1(c) of the California Government Code, duly described in the Williams Code, 1979.

1.01.030 - Code—Adoptions by reference—Notice of hearing—Publication or posting.

After the first reading of the title of this adopting ordinance and of the title of the code as the Williams Municipal Code, 1979 and of the secondary codes therein adopted by reference, the city council of the City of Williams shall schedule and hold a public hearing thereon. Notice of the hearing shall be published pursuant to Section 6066 of the California Government Code in a newspaper of general circulation in or nearest to the City of Williams. If there is no such newspaper in the county, the notice shall be posted in the usual manner of posting ordinances.

The contents of the notice shall conform to the requirements of California Government Code Section 50022.3.

1.01.070 - Each day a separate offense.

Each person shall be guilty of a separate offense for each and every day during any portion of which any violation of any provision of the ordinances or code sections of the City of Williams is committed, continued or permitted by any such person, and he shall be punishable accordingly.

1.01.080 - Code—Copies—Inspection.

Not less than three copies of each primary code and secondary code pertaining thereto, certified as true, are on file with the City Clerk of the City of Williams, City Hall, and are available for inspection and are available for purchase by the public.

1.01.090 - Severability clause.

The City Council of the City of Williams hereby declares that should any section, paragraph, sentence, or word of this ordinance or of the code hereby adopted be declared for any reason to be invalid, it is the intent of the City Council of the City of Williams that it would have passed all other portions of this ordinance independent of the elimination herefrom of any such portion as may be declared invalid.
