§ 10.44.010. Use of private driveways prohibited.

A. No person shall operate or drive a commercial vehicle in, on or across any sidewalk, or on or across any private driveway without the consent of the owner or occupant thereof if a sign or markings are in place indicating that the use of such driveway is prohibited.

B. For the purpose of this section a "commercial vehicle" means a vehicle having a gross vehicular weight in excess of six thousand three hundred pounds.

§ 10.44.020. Truck parking.

A. No person shall park any truck for more than two hours on a street within a residential district, or move and re-park such vehicle in such residential district to within three hundred feet of the original parking site, within any twenty-four-hour period, except while loading or unloading property or in connection with, and in the aid of, the performance of a service to or on property adjacent to the block in which such truck is parked, and only for such time as necessary to complete loading, unloading, or service.

B. "Truck" means any truck or truck-tractor having three or more axles or any truck or truck-tractor drawing any other vehicle when the combination of axles is three or more.

§ 10.44.030. Truck routes.

The council may by resolution designate certain routes over certain streets to be truck routes for movement of vehicles exceeding a gross maximum weight of three tons. When any such street or portions thereof are designated as a truck route, the traffic and safety engineer shall cause appropriate signs to be placed alongside the route.

§ 10.44.040. Signposting of prohibited streets.

When appropriate signs have been posted, commercial vehicles shall be prohibited on those streets designated by resolution of the council as streets upon which commercial vehicles are prohibited.

§ 10.44.050. Advertising vehicle prohibitions.

No person shall operate or drive any vehicle used principally for advertising purposes or any advertising vehicle equipped with a sound-amplifying or loudspeaking device upon any street or alley at any time without written permission from the city.
