§ 10.20.010. Establishment.

The city council, on the basis of engineering and traffic investigation and surveys, has determined that the speeds permitted by state law, as applicable to certain streets in the city, are different than those necessary for safe operation thereon, under the conditions found to exist on such streets, and it is declared that the prima facie speed limit shall be as set forth on those streets or parts of streets within the city when signs giving notice thereof have been erected upon those streets.

§ 10.20.020. Signposting.

The traffic and safety engineer is directed to have signs erected upon the streets at appropriate locations giving notice of the limits established.

§ 10.20.030. Timing of signals.

The traffic and safety engineer is authorized to regulate the timing of traffic signals so as to permit the movement of traffic in an orderly and safe manner at speeds at variance from speeds otherwise applicable within the districts or at intersections and shall erect appropriate signs giving notice thereof.
