§ 10.04.010. Short title.¶
This title shall be known and may be cited as the "Wheatland Traffic Ordinance."

§ 10.04.020. Definitions.¶
The following words and phrases, when used in this title shall, for the purpose of this title, have the meanings respectfully ascribed to them in this section. Whenever any words or phrases used herein are not defined, but are defined in the Vehicle Code of the state, such definitions shall apply:
"City"
means the City of Wheatland.
"Council"
means the city council of the City of Wheatland.
"Holidays"
means all Sundays, and such other holidays as established by federal, state, and local governments.
"Loading zone"
means space adjacent to a curb reserved for the exclusive use of vehicles during the loading or unloading of passengers or materials.
Official time standard.
Whenever certain hours are named in this chapter, they mean standard time or daylight saving time as may be current use in the city.
"Official traffic devices"
means all signs, signals, markings, and devices not inconsistent with this chapter which are placed or erected under lawful authority for the purpose of regulating, warning or guiding traffic.
"Official traffic signals"
means all devices, whether manually, electrical, or mechanically operated, by which traffic is alternately directed to stop and proceed and which are erected under lawful authority.
"Parking meter"
means a mechanical device installed within or upon the curb or sidewalk area, immediately adjacent to a parking space, for the purpose of controlling the period of time occupancy of such parking meter space by any vehicle.
"Parkway"
means that portion of a street other than a roadway or a sidewalk.
"Pedestrian"
means any person on foot.
"Police officer"
means every officer of the police department of the city or any officer authorized to direct traffic or to make arrests for violations of traffic regulations.
"Police vehicle zone"
means any on street parking space adjacent to police facilities, where posted signs indicates that such parking is for police vehicles only.
"Stop"
means complete cessation of movement.
"Vehicle Code"
means the Vehicle Code of the state.
