6.150.360 Application.

Vehicle permit applications will be in a form prescribed by the police chief and will contain all of the following information:

A. Name, age, citizenship, and address of the applicant;

B. The make, year, type, motor number and license number of the vehicle the applicant proposes to operate as a taxicab;

C. Whether the vehicle was previously damaged and, if so, the nature of such damage; and

D. Whether the vehicle is designated has a “salvage” designation on the ownership certificate or title. (Ord. No. 2000-12, § 3, 5-9-00)

6.150.370 Issuance.

The police chief will issue a permit if:

A. The application was complete in accordance with this chapter;

B. There are no grounds for denying the permit; and

C. The applicant accepts the vehicle permit in writing. (Ord. No. 2000-12, § 3, 5-9-00)

6.150.380 Permit denial.

A permit must be denied if the police chief finds that the vehicle is inadequate or unsafe. Vehicles that have been in an operator’s service for longer than three years will be deemed inadequate and unsafe; provided, that vehicles cannot be placed into service by an operator that are older than seven years. Vehicles that are 10 years old or older will be deemed inadequate and unsafe. (Ord. No. 2000-12, § 3, 5-9-00)

6.150.390 Permit revocation.

The police chief will revoke vehicle permits:

A. For vehicles that are determined to be inadequate or unsafe due to lack of maintenance or damage; or

B. If information submitted by the applicant is materially false. (Ord. No. 2000-12, § 3, 5-9-00)
