Sec. 8-6.01. Adoption of California Mechanical Code.¶
That certain Code designated as the “California Mechanical Code”, 2025 Edition, including its Standards and Appendices, based upon the Uniform Mechanical Code, 2025 Edition, published by the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials, at least one copy of which is on file in the office of the Building Official for public record and inspection, is hereby adopted by reference and made a part of this chapter as though set forth in this chapter in full, subject, however, to the amendments, additions and deletions set forth in this chapter. Said Code shall be known as the Mechanical Code of the City.

Sec. 8-6.02. Amendments: California Mechanical Code.¶
The City Council, after due consideration, finds and determines that, due to the need to establish administrative procedures to enforce the California Mechanical Code, as well as due to local climatic, geological, or topographical conditions, including unusual soil conditions prevailing within the City, the public health and welfare would best be served by adding to and amending the California Mechanical Code.

Sec. 8-6.03. Jurisdiction.¶
The name “City of Thousand Oaks” is hereby inserted in any and all blank spaces provided in said California Mechanical Code, 2025 Edition, for the name of the jurisdiction adopting said Code, and wherever the word “city” or “jurisdiction” appears in said Code or is otherwise used, it shall mean and refer to the City of Thousand Oaks.

Sec. 8-6.04. Amendments: Chapter 1, Division II, Administration.¶
Section 101.2 “Scope” is amended to read as follows:
101.2 Scope.
The provisions of this code and Title 8, Chapter 4, the City of Thousand Oaks Code Administration shall apply to the erection, installation, alteration, repair, relocation, replacement, addition to, use, or maintenance of mechanical systems within this jurisdiction.
Sections 103, 104, 106, 107 and Table 104.5 are hereby deleted.
