Sec. 8-19.01. Adoption of International Swimming Pool and Spa Code.¶
That certain Code designated as the 2024 Edition of the International Swimming Pool and Spa Code, published by the International Code Council, at least one copy of which is on file in the office of the Building Official for public record and inspection, is hereby adopted by reference and made a part of this chapter as though set forth in this chapter in full, subject however, to amendments, additions and deletions set forth in this chapter. Said Code shall be known as the Swimming Pool and Spa Code 2024 Edition for the City.

Sec. 8-19.02. Deletions.¶
The following sections are deleted from the 2024 Edition of the International Swimming Pool and Spa Code:
Sections 112, 105.3, 105.4.3, 105.4.4, 109, 112, 113, and 114. Refer to Section 102.7 for referenced codes.

Sec. 8-19.03 Amendments: Scope.¶
Section 101.2 of the 2024 International Swimming Pool and Spa Code is amended to read as follows:
101.2 Scope.
The provisions of this code and Title 8, Chapter 4, the City of Thousand Oaks Code Administration shall apply to the construction, alteration, movement, replacement, repair and maintenance of aquatic recreation facilities, pools and spas. The pools and spas covered by this code are either permanent or temporary, and shall be only those that are designed and manufactured to be connected to a circulation system and that are intended for swimming, bathing or wading.

Sec. 8-19.04. Amendments: Applicability.¶
Section 102.7 of the 2024 International Swimming Pool and Spa Code is amended to read as follows:
102.7 Referenced codes and standards.
The International codes and standards referenced in this code shall be the California Building Code, California Residential Code, California Fire Code, California Existing Building Code, California Energy Code, California Plumbing Code, California Electrical Code, California Mechanical, California Green Building Code, California Wildland-Urban Interface Code and any adopted local amendments.
102.7.1 Where the International Residential Code is referenced in this code, the provisions of the California Residential Code as amended by the City of Thousand Oaks shall apply to related systems in detached one- and two-family dwellings and townhouses not more than three stories in height. Other related systems shall comply with the applicable California Code or referenced standard.
