2-2-1: MAP ADOPTED:

The scheme or plan for numbering houses and street entrances to buildings in the City, prepared by the Engineer, and shown by the street number map filed in the office of the Engineer on October 6, 1924, is hereby approved and said map is hereby adopted as the Official Street Number Map of the City.

The Official Street Number Map shall be kept in the office of the Engineer and the Engineer shall, upon the application of the owner or occupant of any house or building in this City, furnish him with a memorandum of the correct numbers of each of its street entrances, after the owner or occupant has furnished the Engineer with a correct description of the property built upon. 2-2-2: NUMBERING SYSTEM:

All street entrances to buildings and exterior doors to houses fronting on or facing any street in the City shall be numbered to correspond with the prorated number of the block, section or division of street frontage upon which it fronts, as shown by the aforesaid Street Number Map. (Ord. 161, 10-6-1924)

2-2-3: SIZE OF NUMBERS:

All entrances to houses or buildings shall be numbered, and it shall be unlawful for any person, whether owner or occupant of the house or building to place, maintain or allow to remain thereon, any number other than the one allotted by the provisions of this Chapter. The number placed upon any entrance shall be at least one and three-quarter inches (13/4") in height and of a width in proportion.

If the owner or occupant of any building or house in the City shall fail to cause the main door or any street entrance thereof to be properly numbered, as herein provided, for ten (10) days after receiving notice in writing from the Engineer to cause such door or entrance to be numbered, he shall be guilty of a misdemeanor; provided, that whenever any owner or occupant has been notified to change the existing numbers upon his building or house, the old number may also be temporarily retained for a period not exceeding ninety (90) days after notice to change the same has been made. 2-2-4: DESIGNATION OF STREETS AND NUMBERS:

All numbers on buildings or houses facing streets running in a northerly direction, and lying North of Main Street, shall be designated as Number North, and all numbers on buildings or houses facing streets running in a southerly direction and lying South of Main Street, shall be designated as Number South. (Ord. 161, 10-6-1924)
