Siskiyou County Municipal Code Art. 6 Speed Limits

The provisions of this Article shall be effective only upon the erection of appropriate signs giving notice of restricted speed limits in such designated areas.

It shall be unlawful for any person to drive or operate any automobile, truck, or other vehicle at a speed greater than fifteen (15) miles per hour in the following designated locations in the County:

(a) On that portion of the Etna-Forks of Salmon Road (2E01) beginning at a point 1,980 feet easterly from the Sawyers Bar post office and extending westerly to a point 1,980 feet westerly of the Sawyers Bar post office;

(b) For vehicles over ten (10) tons, on County Bridge No. 4G6 (State Bridge No. 2C-100), which is located on County Road 4G04, Middle Scott Valley Road;

(c) On County Bridge No. 1C2 Knownothing Creek (State Bridge No. 2C-88) FAS 1580;

(d) On Bridge No. 6H3 on the Old Fort Jones-Yreka Road (No. 6H001) over Moffett Creek;

(e) On Bridge 7F1 on Roxberry Drive (No. 7F002) over the Scott River;

(f) On Bridge No. 8L2 on York Road (No. 8L001) Over willow Creek;

(g) On Bridge No. 10M1 on Copco Road (No. 9K02) over the Klamath River;

(h) On Quartz Valley and Oro Fino Road (County road 6F01) from 2,530 feet northwesterly of Mill Creek Road (County Road 5F001) to 1,160 feet southeasterly of said Mill Creek Road;

(i) On all of Elizabeth Street (County Road 1M060) in Dunsmuir;

(j) On that portion of Eddys Gulch Road (County Road 2E001A) from fifty feet north of Cecilville Road (County Road 1C02) to 850 feet north of Cecilville Road;

(k) On Bitter Way (County Road 4L015) and Park Way (County Road LL016);

(l) On Ager-Beswick Road (County Road 8L02) from 2.1 miles east of Copco Road (County Road 9K02) to 2.4 miles east of said Copco Road; and

(m) On North Shore Road (County Road 2M064) from 0.2 mile west of W.A. Barr Road (County Road 2M22) to the westerly terminus of said North Shore Road.

It shall be unlawful for any person to drive or operate any automobile, truck, or other vehicle at a speed greater than twenty (20) miles per hour in the following designated locations in the County:

(a) On that portion of Indian Creek Road (7C01) beginning at the intersection of Indian Creek Road (7C01) and Highway 96 and extending northerly from said intersection a distance of 5,280 feet;

(b) On all of Old Highway (County Road 7C023) from the northerly intersection with State Highway 96 to the southerly intersection with State Highway 96 in the vicinity of Happy Camp;

(c) On that portion of Buckhorn Road (County Road 7C005) from 500 feet southerly of Attebery Street (County Road 7C031) to the northerly terminus of said County Road 7C005; and

(d) On Maple Avenue (County Road 4L018), Brookside Avenue (County Road 4L019), Carrick Avenue (County Road 4L005), and First Avenue (County Road 4L020).

It shall be unlawful for any person to drive or operate any automobile, truck, or other vehicle at a speed greater than twenty-five (25) miles per hour in the following designated locations in the County:

(a) On that portion of South Dunsmuir River Road from a point on said road at the south line of the City limits of the City of Dunsmuir to the South Second Street intersection;

(b) On that portion of Shasta Avenue beginning at Highway 89 and extending north four-tenths (4/10) of one mile to Mill Street, in the district known as the Town of McCloud;

(c) On that portion of Broadway Avenue beginning at Highway 89 and extending north three-tenths (3/10) of one mile to Mill Street, in the district known as the Town of McCloud;

(d) On that portion of Quincy Street beginning at Highway 89 and extending north four-tenths (4/10) of one mile to Mill Street, in the district known as the Town of McCloud;

(e) On that portion of Pondosa Way (1S002) beginning at the intersection of Pondosa Way (1S002) and County Road 1S001, and extending around that circular section of road through Pondosa Camp to the same intersection of Pondosa Way (1S002) and County Road 1S001;

(f) On that portion of Everett Memorial Highway (2M037) and Washington Drive (2M018) beginning at a point 600 feet north of the intersection of Salanti Road (2M009) and extending southerly along Everett Memorial Highway (2M037) and Washington Drive (2M018) to the intersection with the corporate limits of the City of Mt. Shasta;

(g) (Repealed)

(h) On that portion of Everett Memorial Highway, County Road No. 2M37, which is outside the City limits of the City of Mt. Shasta and situated between the south side of the intersection with Shasta Avenue or the north City limits of the City of Mt. Shasta and the north side of the intersection with Butte Avenue or the south limits of the thirty-five (35) mile per hour zone;

(i) On County Road No. 6J003, Walters Lane;

(j) On County Road No. 6J004, DeWitt Road;

(k) On Maple Avenue (County Road No. 4L018) from Park Way (County Road No. 4L016) to State Highway 97;

(l) On Brookside Avenue (County road 4L019) from Park Way (County road 4L016) to State Highway 97;

(m) On Carrick Avenue (County Road 4L005) from park Way (County road 4L016) to State Highway 97;

(n) On First Street (County Road 4L020) from Park Way (County Road 4L016) to State Highway 97;

(o) On County Road 1N001, Barn road, McCloud;

(p) On County Road 7C006, Curley Jack road;

(q) On Slough Road (County Road 4L01) from 0.15 mile south of the intersection of Second Avenue (County Road 4L013) to 0.20 mile north of the intersection of Second Avenue (County road 4L013);

(r) On Gazelle-Callahan Road (County Road 2H01) from 1,000 feet east of the East Fork Scott River Bridge to the intersection of State Highway 3;

(s) On Tennant Mt. Hebron Road (County Road 6Q002) from one mile northerly of the Antelope Creek Bridge southwest of the Town of Tennant to the Antelope Creek Bridge north of the Town of Tennant;

(t) On Indian Creek Road (County Road 7C01) from Second Avenue (County Road 7C012) to Davis road (County Road 7C02);

(u) On Ski Village Drive (County Road 2M009) from North Mt. Shasta Boulevard (County Road 2M056) to 0.3 mile easterly;

(v) On any county highway when "CHAINS REQUIRED" or "CHAINS ADVISABLE" signs are displayed by order of the Road Commissioner;

(w) On Shasta Avenue (County road 2M014) from its junction with Everett Memorial Highway (County Road 2M37) to 0.25 mile westerly;

(x) On Quartz Valley and Oro Fino Road (County Road 6F01) from 2,530 feet northwesterly of Mill Creek Road (County Road 5F001) to 1,160 feet southeasterly of said Mill Creek Road;

(y) On Highland Drive (County Road 2M003);

(z) On County Road 8Q020 from 5.1 miles to 5.6 miles west of Highway 97 at Macdoel;

(aa) On all residential and business area streets in the area defined as follows:

(1) Bounded on the west by a line approximately 100 feet west of the intersection of West Colombero Avenue and Berkeley Way and at the right-of-way boundaries between State Route 89, Modoc Avenue, and West Minnesota Avenue;

(2) Bounded on the north by the boundary of the McCloud Community Services District;

Bounded on the east by the McCloud Community Services District boundary; and

Bounded on the south by a line approximately 100 feet south of the southernmost intersection of Southern Avenue and South McCloud Avenue;

(a) On that portion of County Road 2M001 beginning at a point 200 feet east of the fork in the road and extending to a point one-half (1/2) mile southwesterly of the lower Wagon Creek Bridge (Davis Place Road);

(b) On that portion of County Road 9K009 beginning at a point 100 feet south of the intersection of County Roads 9K009 and 9K016 and running north on said County Road 9K009 to the terminus of said road;

(c) On that portion of County Road 9K01 beginning at a point 300 feet easterly and southerly of the intersection of County Roads 9K01 and 9K017 and running in a northerly and westerly direction to the terminus of County Road 9K01;

(d) On that portion of County Road 9K01 beginning at a point 250 feet south of the intersection of County Roads 9K001 and 9K016 and 9K01 and continuing north on County Road 9K001 to a point 100 feet north of the intersection of County Roads 9K001 and 9K009;

(e) On the entire County Road 9K016;

(f) On the entire County Road 9K012;

(b) On that portion of South Dunsmuir River Road from the South Second Street intersection to the Shasta County line;

(e) On that portion of Mt. Hebron Road (47-24 and 47-23), known as Old Highway, from a point on said highway 1,000 feet north of the Mt. Hebron United States Forest Service Ranger Station to a point 1,000 feet south of the Mt. Hebron United States Forest Service Ranger Station;

It shall be unlawful for any person to drive or operate any automobile, truck, or other vehicle at a speed greater than fifty-five (55) miles per hour in the following designated locations in the County:

(a) On that portion of Everett Memorial Highway (County Road 2M37) beginning at a point 300 feet north of the traffic control gate situated on the north line of an intersecting road numbered N2L03 and extending south along said Everett Memorial Highway a distance of 1,890 feet.

It shall be unlawful for any person to drive or operate any automobile, truck, or other vehicle at a speed greater than forty-five (45) miles per hour in the following designated locations in the County:

(a) On that portion of Old Montague Road (County Road 7K010) from its intersection with SIS 3 (SH82) to the Montague City limits;

(d) On Ski Village Drive (County Road 2M009) from 0.3 mile east of North Mount Shasta Boulevard (County Road 2M056) to Everett Memorial Highway (County Road 2M37);

(e) On Fairlane Road (County Road 6J028) from the Yreka City limits to Walters Lane (County Road 6J003);

(f) On a portion of Old 99 Highway (County Roads 4L05 and 5K05) in Gazelle from 1,300 feet south of the Gazelle-Callahan Road (County Road 2H01) to 1,400 feet north of said Gazelle-Callahan Road;

(g) On Scott River Road (County Road 7F01) from State Route 3 to 0.5 mile northerly;

(h) On Indian Creek Road (County Road 7C01) from 0.5 to 2.1 miles northerly from Davis Road;

(i) On Indian Creek Road (County Road 7C01) from 2.7 to 6.0 miles northerly from Davis Road;

(k) On Foothill Drive (all of County Road 7J36);

(z) On Ager Road (7K01) from 0.8 miles northerly of the intersection of Ager Beswick Road (8L02) to the intersection of Copco Road (9K02);

(aa) On 99-97 Cutoff Road, (County Road A12, 6K01) from eastbound at Post Mile 7.27 and westbound at Post Mile 8.52.

(ab) On Eastside Road, (County Road 4G05) from Mile Post 0.00 at the intersection of Eastside Road and Horn Lane (County Road 4G01), to Mile Post 11.74 at the intersection of Eastside Road and State Highway 3.

(a) Reserved.

(b) On Ball Mountain Little Shasta Road (County Road 7K03) from the Montague city limits to 0.6 mile easterly;

(d) On Hornbrook Road (County Road 9K05) from Copco Road (County Road 9K020) northerly 0.7 miles;

(e) On Abrams Lake Road (3L03) from North Old Stage Road (3L01) to Summit Drive (3L001);

(f) On that portion of North Old Stage Road (3L01 and 3L002) from Deetz Road (3L02) to Stewart Springs Road (4L06); and

(g) On that portion of French Creek Road (3G002) from State Highway 3 southerly 1.8 miles.
