2.60.010 - Creation.¶
A reserve police force is created.

2.60.020 - Officers compensation.¶
The reserve police force shall be a volunteer organization, composed of not to exceed twenty-five members, separate and distinct from the police department of the city. The compensation, if any, for reserve police officers shall be fixed by city council resolution.

2.60.030 - Appointment.¶
The reserve police officers shall be appointed by and shall serve at the pleasure of the chief of police. No person shall be deemed a member of the reserve police force until he/she has been registered as such in a roster to be kept by the chief of police, and has taken an oath to observe and obey the Constitution of the United States, the Constitution of this state, and the laws of this nation, this state and this city, and that he/she or she will carry out the duties of a member of the reserve police force of this city to the best of his/her or her ability.

2.60.040 - Authority.¶
The chief of police shall have complete authority, control and command, subject to the provisions of this chapter, over the reserve police force. He/she shall provide for the training of candidates for membership, and for the further training of members.

2.60.050 - Duties.¶
The duties of the reserve police force shall be to assist the regular members of the police department in the enforcement of the law and maintenance of peace and order. The chief of police may prescribe other duties than those mentioned in this chapter to be performed by the reserve police force, not inconsistent with the provisions of this section.

2.60.060 - Identification.¶
An identification card and such other insignia or evidence of identity as may be prescribed by the rules and regulations to govern the reserve police force shall be issued to each officer, who must carry the card and other identification at all times while on duty. Such identification must be surrendered upon the termination of status as a reserve officer.

2.60.070 - Power of arrest.¶
A reserve police officer shall have the powers of arrest contained in Penal Code Section 830.6 and none other.

2.60.080 - Impersonation prohibited.¶
No person shall wear, carry or display a reserve police force identification card or insignia, or otherwise deceitfully present himself or herself to be connected with the reserve police force, unless he or she in fact is a member thereof.
