Sebastopol Municipal Code Ch. 15.50 Barb Wire Fences

It shall be unlawful for any owner, lessee or occupant of any premises within the City of Sebastopol to place, use or maintain any barbed wire fence or any adjunct thereof fronting on any public lane, alley, avenue, street, highway, sidewalk, crosswalk, or place, without having first obtained permission of the City Council to do so.

Any person so maintaining or permitting to be maintained without such permission any barbed wire shall remove the same within 30 days after notice so to remove has been served on such person by the Superintendent of Streets.

Any person, firm or corporation, violating any of the provisions of this chapter, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine of not less than $10.00 or more than $100.00; and if default be made in payment of the fine so imposed, or any part thereof, then the person convicted may be imprisoned in the County jail, one day for each $2.00 of said fine remaining unpaid. Every five days after the time for removal has expired after notice given as aforesaid, in which said barbed wire remains, constitutes a new and separate offense.
