Sec. 2-16. - Established; boundaries.

The county is divided into two municipal court districts known respectively as the Santa Barbara Judicial District and the North Santa Barbara County Judicial District.

The North Santa Barbara County Judicial District consists of three divisions: (a) Santa Maria Division, (b) Lompoc Division, (c) Solvang Division.

The description of the boundaries thereof shall be as hereinafter set forth:

(a) Santa Barbara Judicial District. The Santa Barbara Judicial District shall consist of all that part of the county lying within the following boundaries:

Beginning at the point of intersection of the easterly line of that certain tract of land, shown upon the map thereof filed in Book 81 at page 61 of Record of Surveys in the office of the Santa Barbara County Recorder, with the mean high tide line of the Pacific Ocean and running thence northerly along said easterly line to its intersection with the northerly line of State Highway U.S. 101; thence westerly and northerly along the northerly and easterly right of way lines of said State Highway U.S. 101 to its intersection with the southerly line of Rancho Las Cruces; thence easterly and northeasterly along the southerly and southeasterly lines of said Rancho Las Cruces to the most easterly corner thereof, said corner being the northwest corner of Section 13, Township 5 North, Range 32 West S.B.B. and M.; thence easterly along the northerly line of said section to and along the northerly line of Sections 18, 17, 16, 15, 14, and 13, Township 5 North, Range 31 West, S.B.B. and M., to and along the northerly line of Section 18, Township 5 North, Range 30 West, S.B.B. and M., to the quarter section corner between Sections 7 and 18 of said Township and Range; thence southerly along the center line of said Section 18 to the southerly line of said Section; thence easterly along the southerly line of Sections 18, 17, 16, 15, 14, and 13; Township 5 North, Range 30 West, to the line between Ranges 29 and 30 West; thence northerly along said Range line to the line between Townships 5 and 6 North; thence easterly along said Township line to the Los Padres National Forest Boundary; thence easterly along said Los Padres National Forest Boundary line to the center line of Santa Ynez River; thence continuing easterly along the center line of said river to the north-south center line of Section 10, Township 5 North, Range 27 West, S.B.B. and M.; thence northerly along said center line and its prolongation northerly to the line between Townships 5 and 6 North; thence easterly along said Township line to the line between Ranges 26 and 27 West; thence northerly along said range line to the line between Township 7 and 8 North; thence easterly along said Township line to the easterly boundary line of the County of Santa Barbara as established by Section 23142 of the Government Code of California; thence southerly along the easterly boundary line of said Santa Barbara County to the southeast corner thereof, being a point located 3 geographical miles in the Pacific Ocean; thence westerly along said southerly boundary line to a point due South of the point of beginning; thence due North to the point of beginning.

(b) North Santa Barbara County Judicial District. The North Santa Barbara County Judicial District shall consist of all that part of the county lying within the following boundaries:

Beginning at the point of intersection of the easterly line of that certain tract of land, shown upon the map thereof filed in Book 81 at page 61 of Record of Surveys in the office of the Santa Barbara County Recorder, with the mean high tide line of the Pacific Ocean and running thence northerly along said easterly line to its intersection with the northerly line of State Highway U.S. 101; thence westerly and northerly along the northerly and easterly right of way lines of said State Highway U.S. 101 to its intersection with the southerly line of Rancho Las Cruces; thence easterly and northeasterly along the southerly and southeasterly lines of said Rancho Las Cruces to the most easterly corner thereof, said corner being the northwest corner of Section 13, Township 5 North, Range 32 West S.B.B. and M.; thence easterly along the northerly line of said section to and along the northerly line of Sections 18, 17, 16, 15, 14, and 13, Township 5 North, Range 31 West, S.B.B. and M., to and along the northerly line of Section 18, Township 5 North, Range 30 West, S.B.B. and M., to the quarter section corner between Sections 7 and 18 of said Township and Range; thence southerly along the center line of said Section 18 to the southerly line of said Section; thence easterly along the southerly line of Sections 18, 17, 16, 15, 14, and 13; Township 5 North, Range 30 West, to the line between Ranges 29 and 30 West; thence northerly along said Range line to the line between Townships 5 and 6 North; thence easterly along said Township line to the Los Padres National Forest Boundary; thence easterly along said Los Padres National Forest Boundary line to the center line of Santa Ynez River; thence continuing easterly along the center line of said river to the north-south center line of Section 10, Township 5 North, Range 27 West, S.B.B. and M.; thence northerly along said center line and its prolongation northerly to the line between Townships 5 and 6 North; thence easterly along said Township line to the line between Ranges 26 and 27 West; thence northerly along said range line to the line between Township 7 and 8 North; thence easterly along said Township line to the easterly boundary line of the County of Santa Barbara as established by Section 23142 of the Government Code of California; thence northerly along the easterly boundary line of said County of Santa Barbara to the northeast corner of said County; thence westerly along the northerly boundary line of said county line to the center line of the Santa Maria River; thence westerly along the center line of said River to the mouth of said River and the Pacific Ocean; thence 3 geographic miles to the North West Corner of said county; thence southerly, southeasterly, easterly and parallel a distance of 3 geographic miles, with the mean high tide line to the prolongation of the easterly line of that certain tract of land, shown in book 81 page 61 of said Record of Survey; thence northerly along the easterly prolongation line to the point of beginning.

(c) Santa Maria Division of the North Santa Barbara County Judicial District. The Santa Maria Division of the North Santa Barbara County Judicial District shall consist of all that part of the county lying within the following boundaries:

Beginning at a point three English miles offshore in the Pacific Ocean, being the northwest corner of the County of Santa Barbara; thence due east along said county line to the mouth of the Santa Maria River; thence continuing in a generally easterly direction following said northerly boundary line of the County of Santa Barbara to the northeast corner of said County of Santa Barbara; thence southerly along the easterly boundary line of said County of Santa Barbara to the line between Townships 7 and 8 North S.B.B. and M.; thence westerly along said township line between Townships 7 and 8 North to the line between Ranges 29 and 30 West; thence northerly along said line between Ranges 29 and 30 West to the township line between Townships 8 and 9 North; thence westerly along the township line between Townships 8 and 9 North to the easterly boundary line of Rancho Sisquoc; thence southwesterly to the most southerly corner of said Rancho Sisquoc; thence northwesterly along the southerly boundary line of Rancho Sisquoc to its intersection with the center line of Zaca Creek; thence southwesterly along the center line of Zaca Creek to its intersection with the north line of Rancho La Zaca; thence westerly along the northerly line of said Rancho La Zaca to the northwest corner thereof; thence southerly along the westerly line of said Rancho La Zaca to the north boundary line of the Rancho Corral de Quati; thence westerly along the northerly boundary line of said Rancho Corral de Quati to the northwest corner thereof; thence southerly along the westerly boundary line of said Rancho to the southwest corner thereof; said corner also being on the north boundary of Rancho San Carlos de Jonata; thence northwesterly along the northerly line of Rancho San Carlos de Jonata to the northwest corner of said Rancho; thence northwesterly to the southeasterly corner of Rancho Los Alamos; thence northwesterly along the southerly boundary line of the Rancho Los Alamos to the southwest corner of said Rancho and the most southerly corner of Rancho Todos Santos y San Antonio; thence northwesterly along the southwesterly line of the Rancho Todos Santos y San Antonio to the center line of San Antonio Creek; thence in a westerly direction along the center line of San Antonio Creek and its prolongation due west to a point three English miles in the Pacific Ocean opposite the center line of the mouth of said San Antonio Creek; thence northerly parallel with the ocean shore to the point of beginning.

(d) Lompoc Division of the North Santa Barbara County Judicial District. The Lompoc Division of the North Santa Barbara County Judicial District shall consist of all that part of the county lying within the following boundaries:

Beginning at the point of intersection of the easterly line of that certain tract of land shown upon the map thereof filed in Book 81 at page 61 of Record of Surveys in the office of the Santa Barbara County Recorder, with the mean high tide line of the Pacific Ocean; thence due South to a point three (3) geographical miles in the Pacific Ocean, being a point on the Santa Barbara County Line; thence in a general westerly and northerly direction along said Santa Barbara County Line to a point located due West from the point of intersection of the center line of San Antonio Creek with the mean high tide line of the Pacific Ocean; thence East to said point of intersection; thence easterly along the center line of said San Antonio Creek to its intersection with the southwesterly line of Rancho Todos Santos y San Antonio; thence southeasterly along the southwesterly line of said Rancho Todos Santos y San Antonio to and along the southerly line of Rancho Los Alamos to its intersection with the westerly line of Rancho La Laguna; thence southerly along the westerly line of said Rancho La Laguna to the northwest corner of Rancho San Carlos de Jonata; thence southerly along the westerly line of said Rancho San Carlos de Jonata to and along the easterly line of Rancho Santa Rosa to its intersection with the center line of the Santa Ynez River; thence southwesterly and westerly along the center line of said Santa Ynez River to its intersection with the Range Line between Ranges 32 and 33 West, S.B.B. and M.; thence southerly along said Range Line to its intersection with the southerly line of the hereinabove referred to Rancho Santa Rosa; thence southeasterly, along the southerly line of said Rancho Santa Rosa, to its intersection with the easterly line of Fractional Section 29, Township 6 North, Range 32 West, S.B.B. and M.; thence southerly along the easterly line of Fractional Section 29 to and along the easterly line of Fractional Section 32 of said Township and Range to its intersection with the northerly line of Rancho San Julian; thence easterly and southerly along the northerly and easterly lines of said Rancho San Julian to its intersection with the northerly line of State Highway No. 1; thence southeasterly along the right of way line of said State Highway No. 1 to the southerly terminus of that certain course described as No. 10 in the deed to the State of California recorded in Book 2159 at page 356 of Official Records in the office of the Santa Barbara County Recorder, said course having a bearing and distance of S 52° 35′ 04″ W 387.06 feet; thence East, leaving the northerly line of said State Highway No. 1, to a point in the easterly right of way line of State Highway U.S. 101; thence southerly along the easterly right of way line of said State Highway U.S. 101 to its intersection with the easterly line of the first hereinabove referred to tract of land shown upon the map thereof filed in Book 81 at page 61 of Record of Surveys; thence southerly along said easterly line to the point of beginning.

(e) Solvang Division of the North Santa Barbara County Judicial District. The Solvang Division of the North Santa Barbara County Judicial District shall consist of all that part of the county lying within the following boundaries:

Beginning at the point where the east line of State Highway U.S. 101 intersects the southerly line of Rancho Las Cruces; thence easterly and northeasterly along the southerly and southeasterly lines of said Rancho Las Cruces to the most easterly corner thereof, said corner being the northwest corner of Section 13, Township 5 North, Range 32 West, S.B.B. and M.; thence easterly along the northerly line of said Section to and along the northerly line of Sections 18, 17, 16, 15, 14 and 13, of Township 5 North, Range 31 West, S.B.B. and M., to and along the northerly line of Section 18, Township 5 North, Range 30 West, S.B.B. and M., to the quarter section corner between Sections 7 and 18 of said Township and Range; thence southerly along the center line of said Section 18 to the southerly line of said section; thence easterly along the southerly line of Sections 18, 17, 16, 15, 14, and 13, Township 5 North, Range 30 West, to the line between Ranges 29 and 30 West; thence northerly along said range line to the line between Townships 5 and 6 North; thence easterly along said Township line to the Los Padres National Forest Boundary; thence easterly along said Los Padres National Forest Boundary line to the center line of Santa Ynez River; thence continuing easterly along the center line of said river to the center line of Section 10, Township 5 North, Range 27 West, S.B.B. and M.; thence northerly along the center line of Sections 10 and 3, Township 5 North, Range 27 West, to the line between Townships 5 and 6 North; thence easterly along said Township line to the line between Ranges 26 and 27 West; thence northerly along said Range line to the line between Townships 7 and 8 North; thence westerly along said line between Townships 7 and 8 North to the line between Ranges 29 and 30 West; thence northerly along the line between said Ranges 29 and 30 West, to the Township line between Townships 8 and 9 North, thence westerly along the line between Townships 8 and 9 North to the easterly boundary of the Rancho Sisquoc; thence southwesterly and northwesterly along the easterly and southerly boundary line of said Rancho Sisquoc to its intersection with Zaca Creek; thence southwesterly along center line of Zaca Creek to its intersection with the north line of Rancho La Zaca; thence westerly along said northerly line of said Rancho La Zaca to the northwest corner thereof; thence southerly along the westerly line of said Rancho La Zaca to the north boundary line of the Rancho Corral de Quati; thence westerly along the northerly boundary line of said Rancho Corral de Quati to the northwest corner thereof; thence southerly along the westerly boundary of said Rancho to the north boundary line of the Rancho San Carlos de Jonata; thence westerly along the northerly boundary line of said Rancho San Carlos de Jonata to the northwest corner thereof; thence southeasterly along the westerly boundary line of said Rancho San Carlos de Jonata to the center line of the Santa Ynez River; thence westerly along the center line of said Santa Ynez River to the line between Ranges 32 and 33 West, S.B.B. and M.; thence south along said Range line to the south boundary line of the Rancho Santa Rosa; thence southeasterly along the southerly boundary line of said Rancho Santa Rosa to a point where the line between Sections 32 and 33, Township 6 North, Range 32 West, S.B.B. and M., prolonged northerly would intersect the southerly boundary line of said Rancho Santa Rosa; thence southerly along said line to the north boundary line of the Rancho San Julian; thence southeasterly along the northerly and easterly boundary lines of said Rancho San Julian to its intersection with the northerly right of way line of State Highway No. 1; thence southeasterly along the northerly right of way line of said State Highway No. 1 to the southerly terminus of that certain course described as course No. 10 in the deed to the State of California recorded in Book 2159 at page 356 of Official Records in the office of the Santa Barbara County Recorder, said course having a bearing and distance of S 52° 35′ 04″ W 387.06 feet; thence east, leaving the northerly line of said State Highway No. 1, to a point in the easterly right of way line of State Highway U.S. 101; thence southerly and easterly along the easterly and northerly right of way line of said State Highway U.S. 101 to the point of beginning.

Sec. 2-17. - Effect of annexation by city.

Any unincorporated territory which may become annexed to an incorporated city shall, upon the operative date of such annexation, thereby become included within the same judicial district as the incorporated city to which it is annexed.

The Justice Court of the Solvang Judicial District shall hold court sessions in the Town of Solvang.
