Santa Barbara County Municipal Code Art. VIII Public Guardian

Pursuant to the authority vested in the board of supervisors by section 5075 of the Welfare and Institutions Code of the state, the office of public guardian is hereby created in the county.

The powers and duties of the public guardian shall be as prescribed in the provisions of division 6, part 1, chapter 4 of the Welfare and Institutions Code of the state.

The treasurer-public administrator of the county shall be, and is hereby designated as ex-officio public guardian.

The "Terms and Conditions of Employment" ordinance of the county shall be applicable to the office of the public guardian and such subordinate positions as may have been created by the board of supervisors.

The board of supervisors, by its general salary ordinance, or by resolution pursuant to the "Terms and Conditions of Employment" ordinance may create such subordinate positions in the office of the public guardian as may be necessary.

The compensation of the public guardian shall be such as is established for the office of treasurer-public administrator, and such compensation as treasurer-public administrator shall be in full payment for the duties of both treasurer-public administrator and public guardian. The compensation of such subordinate positions as may have been created in the office of the public guardian shall be fixed by the general salary ordinance of the County.
