Sanger Municipal Code § 14-180 Violations

(a) The 2022 California Building Standards Code (this part known as the California Plumbing Code ("CPC")(part 5)), as promulgated by the California Building Standards Commission, which incorporates the adoption of the 2021 edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code as amended with necessary California amendments and the 2021 edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code of the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials, is hereby adopted by the City of Sanger, except as otherwise provided herein. The "Administrative Provisions of the Sanger Building Code" as detailed in section 14-6 shall apply to the administration of the CPC, and all references in the Administrative Provisions of the Sanger Building Code shall mean and include the CPC, as amended by this article.

(b) The following sections, chapters, and appendix chapters are hereby deleted from the CPC: None.

(c) One copy of the CPC is on file in the office of the building official and is available for public review.

The applicable provisions of chapter 1, divisions I and II of the CPC shall hereafter be collectively referred to as the "Administrative Provisions of the Sanger Plumbing Code". Whenever there exists a conflict between the applicable provisions of the administrative provisions of the Sanger Plumbing Code and chapter 1 of the CBC, or chapter 1 of the California Residential Code, or chapter 1 of the California Plumbing Code, or chapter 1 of the California Mechanical Code or article 089 of the California Electrical Code, the applicable provisions of the administrative provisions of the Sanger Building Code shall apply.

No person shall erect, install, alter, repair, relocate, add to, replace, use, or maintain plumbing in the jurisdiction, or cause the same to be done, contrary to or in violation of any of the provisions of this section. Maintenance of plumbing that is unlawful at the time it was installed and which would be unlawful under this section shall constitute a continuing violation.

Section 108.8.1 is amended as follows:

108.8.1 General. In order to hear and decide appeals of orders, decisions or determinations made by the building official relative to the application and interpretation of this code, there shall be and is hereby created a board of appeals. As used in this chapter, or in any code adopted in this chapter, all references to the board of appeals shall be interpreted as references to the City Council.
