Sec. 14-41. - Title 10 adopted by reference.

Except as hereinafter provided, Title 10, Animals, of the Los Angeles County Code, as amended by Ordinance No. 2011-0038 (adopted July 26, 2011) and in effect on August 25, 2011, is hereby adopted by reference as the animal control ordinance of the City of San Fernando.

Sec. 14-42. - Copy on file.

A copy of Title 10, Animals, of the Los Angeles County Code, as amended by Ordinance No. 2011-0038 (adopted July 26, 2011) and in effect on August 25, 2011, has been deposited in the office of the city clerk and shall at all times be maintained by the city clerk for use and examination by the public.

Sec. 14-43. - Jurisdiction.

Whenever in Title 10, Animals, of the Los Angeles County Code reference is made to the unincorporated area of the County of Los Angeles, such area shall be deemed to include in its true geographical location the entire area of the city.

Sec. 14-44. - Definitions.

Whenever any of the following names or terms are used in Title 10, Animals, of the Los Angeles County Code, each such name or term shall be deemed and construed to have the meaning ascribed to it as follows:

County department of animal care and control means the city department responsible for enforcement of this chapter, except when the term "county department of animal care and control" is a correction notation due to circumstances and syntax.

County of Los Angeles means the City of San Fernando, except where the County of Los Angeles is a correct notation due to circumstances and syntax.

Regional planning commission means the city planning commission, except when the regional planning commission is a correct notation due to circumstances and syntax.

Sheriff means the city chief of police, except when the term "sheriff" or "county sheriff" is a correct notation due to circumstances and syntax.

Sec. 14-45. - Fee schedule.

Section 10.90.010 of Title 10, Animals, of the Los Angeles County Code is adopted as a fee schedule for spaying, neutering, animal disposal, impounding, licensing and all other fees to be collected by the city or county.

Sec. 14-46. - Penalty for violation.

(a) Unless a different penalty is provided for in this article, any person violating any of the provisions of this article is guilty of an infraction that is punishable as provided in article II of chapter 1 of the San Fernando City Code.
