2.20.010 - Bonds of City officers generally.

Before entering upon the duties of the office, the City Treasurer shall execute a faithful performance bond to the City. The penal sum of the bond shall be in a reasonable amount recommended by the City Attorney and fixed by the council by resolution, and may be changed during the term of office. The City Council may require bonds of any other officer or employee of the City. The premium on all such bonds shall be paid by the City.

2.20.020 - Additional duties of policemen and firemen—Generally.

In addition to the performance of their regular and ordinary duties, it shall be the duty of all policemen and firemen, at all times, and under all circumstances, to go to the aid of all persons, animals or property in distress or danger and render them such help and assistance as lies within their power.

2.20.030 - Same—Injuries incurred while rendering services.

In case any policeman or fireman should be injured while rendering additional services as provided in the preceding section, they shall be deemed to be injured in the course of employment and shall be entitled to receive compensation therefor, as provided by law.

2.20.040 - Approval of plans and designs.

The Public Works Director/City Engineer and Utilities Director (or each of his/her designees provided that such designees hold a valid registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of California) is delegated the authority to exercise discretionary approval of plans, designs and any design amendments or addenda for public improvement or subdivision improvement projects. The plans and designs shall be signed by the Public Works Director/City Engineer or Utilities Director, or his/her designees. If this authority to exercise discretionary approval is not delegated by the Public Works Director/City Engineer or Utilities Director, then either must hold a valid registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of California to sign plans, designs and any design amendments or addenda for public improvement or subdivision improvement projects.
