2.16.010 - Position created—Appointment—Term—Compensation.¶
The position of City Fire Chief is created and established. The Fire Chief shall be appointed by the City Council.

2.16.020 - Fire Chief—Powers and duties.¶
The Fire Chief shall be responsible for the administration and operations of fire/EMS services within the City. He or she shall cause to be created a set of uniform regulations for the enforcement of fire prevention rules as necessary. The Fire Chief and/or designee, shall also have complete charge of all fire, rescue and emergency services and shall retain that responsibility under conditions which may cause a fire or explosion to occur. The Fire Chief shall be consulted in regards to the establishment of new construction, revision to the existing construction, location and type of fire hydrants and any other matter that will be related to or have an ultimate effect on the fire protection of the City.

2.16.030 - Bureau of Fire Prevention established—Duties.¶
The Uniform Fire Code adopted by this Code shall be enforced by the Bureau of Fire Prevention, which is established in the Fire Department and which shall be operated under the supervision of the Chief of the Fire Department and in accordance with rules and regulations of the department.
