§ 8.84.010 DESTRUCTION AND REMOVAL - NOTICE TO OWNER.

Whenever it comes to the attention of the health officer, or other designated officer, that a castor bean (Ricinus communis) plant is growing upon any lot or premises in the city in such a manner as to cause a nuisance or menace to health, he or she shall order such castor bean (Ricinus communis) plant destroyed and removed. Notice of the order shall be in writing addressed to the owner or occupant thereof and shall set forth the time within which the destruction and removal shall be completed.

§ 8.84.020 FAILURE TO REMOVE AN INFRACTION.

It is unlawful for any person to knowingly fail, refuse or neglect to destroy and remove such castor bean (Ricinus communis) plant when so ordered by the health officer in the manner specified in § 8.84.010. Such failure, refusal or neglect constitutes an infraction, which, upon conviction thereof, is punishable in accordance with the provisions of § 1.12.010.
