§ 3.05.085 JUVENILE HOME; ESTABLISHED; USE; OPERATION.

(A) There is hereby established a juvenile home on the property of the county known as the county hospital grounds. (B) The property, and the building thereon, is to be designated, and established in conjunction with the Probation Department of the county as a home to be used exclusively for the commitment, care and education of wards of the Juvenile Court who would otherwise be committed by the Juvenile Court to the youth authority for placement in a correctional school. (C) The juvenile home shall not constitute any part of the detention system of the county and shall be administered, operated and maintained in accordance with the provisions of Cal. § 3.05.086 SAME; ESTABLISHMENT AND MAINTENANCE OF SCHOOL.

(A) The county’s Superintendent of Schools is hereby directed to establish and maintain a public school in the juvenile home of the county, to consist of such grades as may be, in the judgment of the county’s Superintendent of Schools, necessary. (B) The school shall be maintained subject to, and in accordance with, all laws relating to schools maintained by a county superintendent of schools in a detention home Cal. § 3.05.087 DELINQUENCY PREVENTION COMMISSION; ESTABLISHED.

Pursuant to Cal. Welfare and Institutions Code § 233, a delinquency prevention commission is hereby established in the county. (1966 Code, § 2-40) (Ord. 251, § 1)

§ 3.05.088 SAME; PURPOSE.

The purpose of the Commission is to coordinate on a county-wide basis the work of governmental and non-governmental organizations engaged in activities designed to prevent juvenile delinquency. (1966 Code, § 2-41) (Ord. 251, § 2)

§ 3.05.089 SAME; MEMBERSHIP.

The members of the Juvenile Justice Commission of the county shall constitute the members of, and serve as, the Delinquency Prevention Commission. (1966 Code, § 2-42) (Ord. 251, § 3)
