2.48.010 - Comparable class of position defined.

As used in this chapter, the term "comparable class of position" means a group of positions substantially similar with respect to qualifications or duties or responsibilities, using the following positions as guidelines:

A. Sergeant;

B. Police officer;

C. Dispatch supervisor-administrative secretary;

D. Dispatcher clerk.

2.48.020 - Council determination.

The council shall, on January 1st annually, determine the existing average salaries for the Auburn Police Department, Lincoln Police Department, Roseville Police Department and Placer County sheriff's office, operating within the county of Placer for each class of position employed by those agencies. Effective February 1, 1981, and effective February 1st of each year thereafter, the council shall adjust and determine that the average salary for each class of position in the Rocklin police department as set forth in this chapter is at least equal to the average of the salaries for the comparable positions in the Auburn Police Department, Lincoln Police Department, Roseville Police Department and Placer County sheriff's office.

2.48.030 - Provisions to prevail.

The provisions of this chapter shall prevail over any otherwise conflicting provisions which may relate to salaries of city officers or employees who are not elected by popular vote.
