2.04.020 - Compensation.¶
The compensation for a council member shall be the sum of six hundred and eighty-five dollars per month. However, the council may reduce their monthly compensation by adopting a resolution, which shall require a four fifths affirmative vote, setting forth the amount of the reduction in compensation, and the time period for which the reduced compensation shall be in effect.

2.04.030 - General municipal elections—Consolidation.¶
A. Pursuant to Government Code Section 36503.5, all general municipal elections in the city shall be held on the day of the state-wide general election in even-numbered years. The first such consolidated election shall be held no sooner than the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November, 1996, and each succeeding election shall be held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November of each even numbered year.
B. This section shall apply to the election of all elected officials of the city. Any elected official whose term of office would have expired on the Tuesday succeeding the general municipal election in November, 1995, upon qualification of his or her successor, shall continue in office until no later than the Tuesday succeeding the general municipal election in November, 1996, and until his or her successor is elected and qualified. Any elected official whose term of office would have expired on the Tuesday succeeding the general municipal election in November, 1997, upon qualification of his or her successor, shall continue in office until no later than the Tuesday succeeding the general municipal election in November, 1998, and until his or her successor is elected and qualified.
